I had just been for a dive at Whytecliff Park (Vancouver). Trudged up the hill. I was literally sopping wet, in my dry suit carrying mask and fins. Made it to the top and was approached by a non-diver who asked me if he was allowed to swim in the water.

Did my 100th in Malaysia east coast. It's very conservative there so nude dives are frowned upon. So my buddies decided I would go down to about 5 metres and change into a pair of shorts. Not easy with fins on let me tell you.

when I started diving in a drysuit, the boots were too large for my fins and i'd cramp up. bought some bigger fins and problem solved.

You're probably okay with your 7mm. I recently moved to Melbourne from Vancouver and invested in a 7mm. The shore dives around here all look fairly shallow which means you might be in the water for quite a long time.
