I wanted to say that a sensible tech instructor will probably assess the level of the student beforehand, so no need to be upset about these minimum requirements. But then it seems that the instructor for this course does not have to be certified to any higher tech level. So yeah, duh.

Last liveaboard I did featured wake up calls at 5am for the briefing. I couldn’t be bothered with brewing anything at that time, so no aeropresses, no cold brews from the previous night for me :P. Basically whatever is available on board, so either nespresso or instant (heck I’m so unpretentious).

Truth be told, I had quite an excellent PADI AOWD without a single kneel on the platform. Given the other experiences however it seems to be more of an exception though, and I'm actually quite keen on doing Deco 40 with RAID as the instructors I have met teaching for RAID were all bang on.

I totally feel you :D. Seems like a universal behavior though, and I ended up hiding while dressing up so that I can do it on my own. Still, the crew of grand sea serpent were fantastic and I guess it's just a cultural difference. Some other guests were very happy to be helped.
