    Kiters

It's never really bothered me....I just focus on surfacing in much shallower locations and ensuring my nav is dialed so that I wind up where I need to be.

Larger Place to Rent on Bonaire

I think you'll find most places booked for the summer. When I recently booked through VRBO, I noticed a stat that said ~80% of the available rentals in the month I was looking were already booked. Compared to previous experience, this seems high.....it's almost like there's a pent up demand...

    Teric AI transmitter sqeaks

I've personally experienced this from the first stage....harmonic issue was solved with a service on the first stage. Having said that, the problem would return after about 50 dives....so I replaced it with another brand....problem solved.

    Best Roatan resort

My experience at Turquoise Bay Resort was excellent. The service was amazing and the dive guides were all great. We did not want for anything when we were there...which makes it about the easiest way to get in some good diving.

    Personal Locator beacon

You implied it, so I offered two real-world use cases from a SPOT and a Delorme (now Garmin). Both times "the big boys showed up". In fact, your statement is wrong when you state that it depends who shows up when using a Delorme. As I run an avalanche center, we researched this to understand and...

    Personal Locator beacon

Last ski season, an InReach was used by a group I work with due to a medical emergency in the backcountry. The local LEO SAR group was sent in and helped evac the individual after about 6 hours of waiting and us stabilizing the individual. I've also personally witnessed the activation of a SPOT...

    2021 Bonaire roll call

Just got back from Bonaire via Curacao and Divi Divi. Opted for the 72hr PCR from Sonora Quest (results returned in about 30 hrs) and the Antigen test in Curacao (results took about 20min). Had multiple paper copies of all forms and test results on hand. Immigration was a breeze other than...

Sounds like a Delta route...we're AA up here. I did the red eye once from flag but it was a super PITA.

    Covid surging in Bonaire

Good to know....that must be a new development....as of a few weeks back, they did not. Nevertheless, it takes more than 24 hours to get to Bonaire from Flagstaff due to flight schedules, so it's unfortunately moot.

    Covid surging in Bonaire

Ahh yes, you are correct as well. The distinction being that the 24-hr NAAT test being refered to would require rapid results which is far less available to folks in the US than a standard PCR test which is generally taking 24-48hrs for results around here. And yes, PCR is a NAAT, but not all...

    Covid surging in Bonaire

True, however it's important to note that at this time the only way for US folks to get to Bonaire, one must go through Curacao or Aruba. The Curacao route still requires a PCR - so even though you're heading to the US with an Antigen test requirement, the Curacao hop requires the PCR. I can't...

    Covid surging in Bonaire

On the way back from BON via CUR...waiting in CUR for AA to MIA. Trip was great, the island was great as always, only less people which is ok in my book. Folks were clearly hurting for the turo bucks, but there was a sense in my conversations from folks that things were at an inflection point...
