I guess the reliability of a mechanical device and no way to test for calibration, at least if you stayed within NDL range you could get away from square profiles.
Followed the manuals tuning procedure, verified all parts in place are correct. Replaced spring 3rd time, again adjusted the crazy tuning sleeve according to manual. Passes 2nd stage tuning procedures, but fails “test bench specifications” OE no greater than 1.5… no minimum given.
Could the BC...
No, no. I have the poppet tool for whatever that’s worth. Tried another spring, went up .8, plus two shims… knob all the way in, close to 1.1. Breathe OK no diaphragm lever separation..
Two shims, very little help. Weird thing is when I adjust and raise the levers as high as I can with no leaks and good purge, if I move the adjuster a little bit It will violently FreeFlo and I’m not able to stop unless I turn the tank off. I noticed when this happens the lever drops.
When I turn the tank on, you can hear the orifice move in place. The hose adjuster works, I can adjust the lever height. This is a friends regulator and not very old. She was on a trip and was free-flowing, so she had to borrow a reg set.
