Southern Leyte accomodation and transportation from Cebu City

Out of curiousity, are Peter's and Sogod Bay the only two dive ops in the area? Last time I was there was '02, I think, and I used Peter's, which was the only one open then, if memory serves.

Batangas to Sabang ferry discontinued July 1?

    Philippines recommendations, please.

Thumbs up for the diving around Puerto Galera and staying/diving with El Galleon/Asia Divers. Though one thing I don't think anyone has pointed out is that there is a one hour boat ride from Batangas City to PG, usually by large outrigger (banka). Here is an example I found on youtube:

    Hello from Montgomery, AL

Hi Sherrodmustang, Saw your post and thought I would say Hi! I'm a couple of hours west of you in Greensboro, AL. Moved back here several months ago to stay with my elderly mom. Don't know any one locally that dives, and in fact don't have my gear with me, but plan to have it here by end of...

    South Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama

TheQuickening1101 and Lloyd T., I may be interested in joining you, if you guys make it to the FL Gulf Coast later in the summer. Like Lloyd, I don't have anyone to dive with. I moved back to Alabama a bit over a year ago to live with my elderly mom and haven't been wet in 4 years, but plan on...

Our Sabang Canyons Salmon Run (aka the Dive of Death)

Hi Rick, I've been in Hong Kong for the last 2 years after 4 in China. I get to PG occasionally but not often enough and don't make it down your way very often; I spend most of my time playing with Dave and Sam. Drew

    Early September diving?

Mike, hope all is well in Cali. If you do go to Malapascua, I agree with subzero on using Thresher Shark Divers (TSD). I was there at Holy Week and they did a really good job. Here's their website: Malapascua Island Diving, Philippines Cebu | Thresher Shark Divers. I don't remember if you...

    Malapascua

Thought I would throw in my 2 centavos...I dived Malapascua during Holy Week and saw 1/2 thresher over 2 Monad dives. The 1/2 thresher was one that swam behind me and I only saw him/her as he/she dropped below the edge of Monad. I dived with TSD this trip and enjoyed the crew there, best part...

Manila taxi drivers on the meter

I used to stay quite a lot at a friend's in Valle Verde, I once got in a taxi and the driver wanted P300 to take me to Makati (this was 6 years, so petrol wasn't as expensive) and we argued. I eventually got out of the cab to look elsewhere, but as a parting gift as I was getting out of the...

PG - Asia Divers - El Galleon resort

travelem, PG doesn't suffer during the SW monsoon (habigat) like some parts of the Philippines. They lose very few days a year to weather, you'll be fine in October. The wind turns in October (from the "habigat" to "amihan"), but it doesn't really matter for diving in PG. Drew

    Malapascua Trip (May 9-12)

Pak, my plans have changed and I'll be in Cebu the weekend of May 3 and the weekend of May 10 I'll be in PG playing around at Tech Asia. If you still want to use my shower feel free to drop by Sha-Che's on Small Lalaguna. Drew

    Malapascua Trip (May 9-12)

Are you sure a "shower" is all you want at the shorttime hotel? :D Jokes aside, if I'm in Cebu you are more than welcome to use the shower wherever I'm staying. It will probably be a hotel as last time I stayed at my friends flat but his smoking drove nuts. Drew

    Malapascua Trip (May 9-12)

We did Calangaman with TSD at Holy Week, the only shower I took all week was on the trip back from Calangaman, when we got a bit of a thunderstorm pass by...you gotta take advantage of fresh water wherever you can find it. Mike tell Trevor, Andrea, Mike, Gen, Sophia and Will that I said Hi...

PG - Asia Divers - El Galleon resort

I would go with El Galleon, some people may find LBC a little isolated. To get from Big Lala to Small Lala and Sabang, should you want to go to a bar or out for dinner is a little bit of a walk plus you have a little bit of a climb over the headland between Big and Small Lala...but like Rudi...
