This was very helpful thank you! I do not really want to use the STA so I will just leave the bottom tank strap going through the wing, but not the backplate. It still doesn't explain why this is sold as package (I called Hollis and they couldn't figure it out but promised to get back to me)...

I do have the Hollis Steel backplate. And there is two other slots for the tank straps, however those don't line up with the slots on my LX S38 wing. The only slots on the backplate that work for this wing are the top and bottom pairs. This confuses me as it's sold as a package so it should...

Don't think they will both fit in the slots but worth a try. The waistband does have a hole for a bolt though, which needs to be on the backside of the backplate so I am not sure if that will work. It seems like it's a design flaw since the manual says a tank adapter is not necessary. I wonder...

Did you ever figure this out? If you attach the tank straps first, I feel like it will block the waist cam band slots.

I used this video to set up my harness to the backplate. However at the end of the video you can see that the waist strap is blocking the bottom two slots for the tank straps in the backplate. The manual says I don't need to use the STA though, so there must be another way. I guess I could put...

a6400 with fantasea housing would be a good option, pretty compact and good price point

Adding a second strobe won't give you more power, but it will be spread out evenly and give you better results for sure.

Using a triple clamp works but its better to have your video light separate from your strobe so they can move independently. I recommend using a coldshoe mount if available for your video light.

Go with the Hero 8 Black with a camera tray, and preferably video lights.

I would use auto white balance. Use Protune ISO 100-400, wide, 4k 60FPS if you have a computer that can handle that.

I would use ISO 100-400 on Protune. If you are doing post correction, consider using flat color. Use auto white balance. I shoot in 4k 60FPS - wide.
