I'm currently taking the 100 Ton Masters Course and asked in class an hour ago if an inspected vessel can be driven by a 6 pack Captain if he only has 6 pax
The answer I got was once a vessel is an inspected vessel it remains so... and must be manned accordingly
I drove to Hana. Once. Never again. It was beautiful. And it wasn't the narrow roads or oncoming traffic that made the drive unbearable. It was the fact that it took FOREVER to drive it. It is worth every penny if you can take the helicopter to Hana :bounce:
And I just saw this:
HONOLULU, Hawaii April 12, 2021 at 7:17 PM HST - Updated April 13 at 11:21 AM (HawaiiNewsNow) - Travelers are anxious for more details on Maui’s plan to require coronavirus tests for passengers after they arrive on island.
Maui County Mayor Mike Victorino said by the end...
And there's the rub...
Sorry but I don't know of any testers, and Governor Ige is not being aggressive about getting the Islands open
Would it be possible for you to go Maui first then the Big Island?
We keep hoping the negative test requirement will be eliminated by proof of vaccination, but it isn't the case yet. Which means you will need to get a second covid test before leaving the Big Island for Maui
State and County Orders
I've been diving mine (with speed laces) for over a year now. Got 'em as I feel they are less buoyant than my 3mm booties.
Work great when I'm crewing to earn my dive and work great in my fins! I remove the inner sole (sock liner) when I wear lycra socks and leave it in if I am barefoot

Yes you can skip the advanced adventurer. AA is basically a sampler platter of different specialties. The dives during AA count towards those specialties, but you still need to complete the 4 specialties to complete the SSI Advanced Open Water Diver.
Yes. Many of our staff have earned their Masters License using sea days from diving. There is an exception that allows dive staff to serve as deck hand and then go on the dive. The Coasties also allow a single charter to count as a full 8 hours underway.
You do not show your dive log. But...
One of our Captains has had a broken LPI for several years. No issues with oral inflation.
So it is really your choice. Just like many things in diving.
Before any of your questions make sure you understand the requirements to come to the islands. With current trends I. would not bet we will be out of our testing/quarantine requirements
