Thank you so much,
I was trying to write my post so that it would be useful for those who read later as many posts focus on what the best diving is in SE FL. I would like to sample it all.
So far these are the places we have booked in SE Florida. Part of this is due to my girlfriend loves...
Hello Everyone,
I have scoured the SB posts on as far as diving SE Florida searching for the best diving from Key Largo to Jupiter which seems to be the best diving. I have not seen a post that puts the inquiry the way that I will.
Most people will do a 7-10 day trip to visit SE Florida to do...
very interesting DIY mount. Please could you start a new thread on DIY mount and how you did it. I(and I am sure others) would be interested in how you DIY, the costs, advantages/disadvantages of your DIY system vs others.
thanks
Thanks for posting the wonderful video. Curious, if you bought two VL4200P, why did you just use one light in shooting the video? Please let me know what was your mount setup for the two VL4200P. Please if you can include a link to where I can buy the same setup. Thanks
Hello Brian,
I am looking at buying multiple sets. If you don't already have them configured then you can sell them as is and I will configure on my own. If you have them configured then I would probably just dive that configuration for this trip. I need them delivered by this Friday for my...
Hello,
I am seeking to buy a Deep 6 Signature Regulator or Signature DIN Regulator set.
Please let me know if you have one for sale, details and asking price.
thanks
@Divectionist What would you recommend for one who is a travel diver with regards to having a redundant tank/air supply of some sort? While the vast, vast majority would not travel with their main tank(s), are there any small tanks, secondary air supply that are easy to travel with? I think I...
@tbone1004
At the link below, I started a new thread under Regulators If anyone is interested in reading a discussion about the failure rate of first stages and if it is really worth it to get a spare first stage for trips where there is the potential to rent a regulator if one's first stage...

@tbone1004 thanks for you advice. I am curious, you wrote" First stages are unpredictable little buggers". This is a relative statement. Just how unreliable are first stages in your opinion? What do you think...
Please disregard inquiry but not compliment. Richard answers this post a few posts down from where I quoted.
Hello Richard,
I appreciate how you contribute to SB with your knowledge. I am curious. How many dives were you doing a day in Bonaire just wearing the long sleeve shirt and swim...
Hello,
Some of us have ways that can help others reduce the costs of scuba diving. What if we were to create a loose knit group of diving buddies to enjoy and share those benefits. Some of those benefits may be:
Employee rate for hotels or airlines
Free nights for hotels/rental cars due...
Hello,
I will be diving in Bonaire Nov 23-30th, 2019. If you will be in the area and interesting in possibly diving together, please PM me.
thanks

@Pitchblack
Yours is the only post on Smogen on scuba board. I will try to do some shore snorkeling or rent gear tomorrow at there Scuba Week which is part of their Maritime Week on the west coast. You can read more about it here. I was going to go explore Lysekil for the fjord but they have...
@Dreamer17
I am interested in this but also is there any difference between the Big Blue VL4200 vs VL4200P. My research on lights seems that there may be a big discount on lights(whether just a regular dive light or for photo/video) on Amazon as manufacturers can cut out the middle man and...
@rongoodman Given that this is the case, I am wondering what you and others here think of a work around strategy for this. Some do not repair their own gear. Some do not repair their own gear. If they do, they could simply do this after such a trip. If they do not, one is supposed to get...
@rongoodman that makes a great deal of sense. It is all about mitigating risks. Would you advise diving in that area without pangas? would doing so significantly increase the price of the trip or decrease the quality of stay upon the live aboard(i.e. ones with pangas are much more luxurious)...
@scubafanatic Thanks for sharing. As a diver whose last dive was 20 years ago and is getting re-certified, I appreciate your story yet I learn a different lesson from it. The lesson I learn is to not let others take care of my gear. There had to be room in the living quarters to store a reg...
