There are lot of youtube video teaching you how to take care of your reg, but when you purchase your reg, you can look up the reg user manual.
[ i dunk the whole reg in the water bath ]
[Accroding to Apex manual ] the best way to wash a reg is to wash it when it is attached and pressurized...
A case study from me. Get an AI dive computer and get a SPG and then evaluate whether you like the combination.
If Yes, then that is it. A transmitter can wait, it will not go anywhere.
If No, then evaluate what you don't like about the combination, what can you adjust to make it suit you(...
1. IMO, the drag is not sufficient but the console love to be dangling around and this is not ideal for me as i like to keep thing as streamline as possible. Also console is harder to sell than a separate dive computer in the longer run.
One could argue that having a SPG will increase the drag...
Not crazy expensive but still great = Oceanic, Cressi & Aqualung computers
Great used options - Shearwater, Divesoft.
Wrist or console? - it comes down to your personal preference. For me, to avoid excessive drag, i use wrist mounted computer.
SPG? - good to have it as it is fool-proof, ie...
I support Sh0rtbus view about being optimistic - do not narrow your choice down to only 2 companies and be open minded.
I dive intensively in short time span 4 dives per day for a month almost every day continuously in a year, the quality of Apeks really suit well. Also My most of my LDS (...
I just go straight to Apek - cannot go wrong with an apek reg haha, Tek route.
Atomic seem to be superior than scubapro as Atomic provide an easier breathing than a Scubapro reg but that come with a price - the price itself.
I have seen it in person but haven't dive with it yet.
Screen - Coloured - not as bright as i though it would be - but would be sufficient to see the info in a wreck.
Functionality - very similar to D4/d6
User interface - An upgrade from D4/D6 - 3 buttons - need to get use to that.
Algorithm...
You didn't have to choose but the Op want to choose, lol ( Based on your response to the threat , your are very self centring but not really helping op - this argument is not going to help the op decide nor is it productive so please stop)
I own 2 computers so far - Suuunto D6i Novo and Shearwater teric. If cost is not an issue, then i would suggest you to look into Shearwater company, also its headquarter is located in Canada itself
The functionality of a Shearwater computer might exceed your needs as a recreational diver but...
Na man, i would rather have both than a transmitter or a gauge. Transmitters lower the risk of the entanglement hazard of hoses-look like a grammatical error on my part.
And i will do Tech shortly, so i would not rely my life on transmitters than trusty analog spgs.
transmitter sure will come...
Sorry i use sidemount(2 spgs yes) and there are considerable amount of case studies of transmitter losing signal due to the same frequency that the nearby divers or i suppose if you have 2 transmitters emitting - Shearwater even recall some of their transmitters back to change the radio signal...
