There are lots of dive shops in Coz and Costa Maya for that mater, that should be able to take you without having a group. Just specify what you want to do and they will likely fit you in with others doing the same thing. Check around since most dive shops only do 2 tank dives.

Just saw this thread. I buy EMT shears by the dozen off of Amazon for about $1.25/ea. Use them for everything including diving. They pretty much cut anything and last forever. If they break or rust I simply grab one out of the pile and replace it, but I've not had any break in the 20+ years...

If you're only doing one more dive I highly recommend going with Pro Divers in St. Kitts. Short walk up the dock from the cruise ship, very good diving sites. Check out the Trip Report a couple threads down. I'm also on the Beyond next Jan but our itinerary is the Panama Canal and the ABCs.

I've been involved in 4 discovery dives. One by myself in Grand Cayman, two with my kids in Curacao and Roatan and once with my brothers in Roatan. All were great experiences. I wouldn't judge or condemn all Discovery dives by one bad experience.
