Dive Shops with English Language Services

Definitely still active! Thanks for contributing. Various contributors just got sidetracked with education, babies, life....you know. If you have contact details, websites, etc. for those two, feel free to add it here. We're definitely trying to foster a community that shares info and makes it...

Question 2023 Summer Meet Up in South Korea?

Last summer I dived a bunch of places on the East Coast that I really liked. Probably my favourite was Gangneung through Bobos Dive Resort. Just more variety than other places. You can check out my trip report for that. I hope to check out one place I found on the West Coast this summer and dive...

Question 2023 Summer Meet Up in South Korea?

What's the visibility like at Gamji Haebyeondae? I did some training at Taejongdae and it was always a muck bowl.

    Dive Sites in South Korea

Nice! I'll probably end up there soon enough. I'd like to extend my dive season in the future.

Good places to buy gear while in Korea.

Not really, no. I have size US 11.5, which isn't particularly huge, just larger than they usually carry in SK.

    Dive Sites in South Korea

Yeah, I think NB divers frequently posts ice diving invites on their social media over the winter. I'm told this is also when the Korean water is the clearest and why most of the serious Korean divers who want to dive year-round choose drysuits.

I like the Inn series (Trek Inn, Dive Inn, etc...) websites, too. I've also found that some of the local sites don't carry larger sizes. I don't have particularly large feet but am struggling to find fins in the right size here.

    Trip Report Deepstation

Dove Deepstation on a Sunday, it was LESS busy than the Friday. :thumb: I checked with reception. They indicated that weekend mornings are extremely busy, but the 2PM and following slots are usually pretty chill.

    Trip Report Deepstation

Got back to Deepstation today. Here's a bit of a wider angle shot that gives some perspective of Poseidon's cavern and the tree. The ring swing is also top centre. This is from the 16m level. Mine: (Pro-shot from the website)

    Trip Report Deepstation

Glad to hear of your continued interested Erik. My goal is to use my language skills to get the word out and let people know what options are available here. There have been times when I was pretty confused about options here in SK.

    Trip Report Deepstation

I recently finished a big project, so I had some time yesterday to kick off the 2023 season with a trip to the local dive pool, Deepstation (<--check out their website) or @deepstation.kr or #deepstation on IG. I had previously dived K26 (these were my thoughts). Deepstation is much closer to...

How would someone from the west rate Korea's scuba diving infrastructure?

I feel like this is one of those discussions that needs a lot of caveats and terms defined. Keep in mind that diving has really only taken off in Korea in the last 10 years or so. Prior to that, there was diving but it was more of a tourist thing in Jeju and a couple other touristy places. The...

    Dive Sites in South Korea

They are proliferating! Now there's an even deeper pool called Deepstation, which goes down to 36 meters. It's also much closer to where I live. :thumb: Big Scuba Pools: K26 and Deepstation

    Dive Sites in South Korea

This summer several Korean divers recommended diving Udo to me, so I’d say, yes.
