Help on my first DIY Harness

I'm from the midwest also, almost every dive will be head to toe 7mm or dry suit when I get one. Thanks for the Ideas everyone.

Help on my first DIY Harness

You are correct I do dive both double and single hose. I do not at this time do any double tank diving. Based on your advice it seems buying specialized rigs rather than a one size fits all future proof style solution is the recommendation. I'm ok with that and I appreciate your feedback. I'm...

Help on my first DIY Harness

Side mount is more of a someday project. But I was throwing it in on the off chance is significantly changed what I needed to know. Seems like it's mostly add the butt plate and change the harness hardware. but the nylon seems cheap and construction is something I can all do with harness...

Help on my first DIY Harness

First things first, I want to build my own harness and figure out what commercial back plate to get. I'd love to get some opinions from people who've done this themselves. And what they've learned so I can metaphorically stand on the shoulders of giants, and get this right the first time. To lay...

Argonaut Kraken exhaust loop flooding issue...?

One of the fixes solved the issue. It stayed clear the whole time. Im not sure but I maybe got a very very small amount of water in while doing a very weak exhale at one point. But it was a miniscule amount. Didn't even require any extra effort to clear it. It was nowhere near plugging the...

Argonaut Kraken exhaust loop flooding issue...?

Was just noticing the difference between the aftermarket hoses and the original hoses I just bought. They fit vastly differently and the hose thickness was much different so the clamps maybe couldn't honestly tighten enough to get the job done on the hoses he put on. I've thrown an ip gauge on...

Argonaut Kraken exhaust loop flooding issue...?

Light test passed on my exhaust valve. I cleaned out a bit of dust and debris since it had sat unused for a while until I bought it. Used the caulk sealant trick on the exhaust valve also since I had the silicon sealant laying around. I may have also been getting water from my hoses or the dsv...

US Divers 1085 Second Stage: How do I remove the exhaust t?

Thanks for the encouragement guys! The exhaust T did tear, while I originally thought it was pretty flexible all the rubber touching the metal housing even when heated with super hot water was still like rock. So probably worth replacing anyway. gjc thanks for the tip about the Conshelf 21-22...

US Divers 1085 Second Stage: How do I remove the exhaust t?

This isn't in horrible condition, but it's not in great condition so I don't feel like I'm doing it a disservice by not keeping all the original parts. It's technically an Aquarius but the sticker is in rough shape and I can't find a reproduction for that sticker so I have a silver conshelf 14...

US Divers 1085 Second Stage: How do I remove the exhaust t?

So I'm going to be rebuilding one of these either today or tomorrow when the rebuild kit comes in. I've watched VDH's video but they don't cover how to remove the exhaust T. I assume this is a common fairly universal operation but how is it done? Do you just have to get aggressive and pull it...

Argonaut Kraken exhaust loop flooding issue...?

Thanks Luis! I appreciate your recommendations on what to look for with the exhaust valve and the trick with the silicon sealant. I will search for small debris and also look with the light. I love my kraken, I'm just needing help sorting out the proper care and feeding related with being a...

    Help Identifying Steel Tank

Nah this is just me wanting to know what I have. It passed hydo and viz inspection it works. I'm super happy. Just nice to say what I have when people ask. We also kinda compete to see who used the least air on a given dive as sort of a mini game. So it's only slightly more than idle curiosity...

Argonaut Kraken exhaust loop flooding issue...?

I have not done really any troubleshooting since I just received my Kraken used and only been on one dive and some pool practice with it. I have a DSV rebuild kit coming, and the person I bought it from had different hoses on it than what it came with. I've got original hoses coming as well. The...

    Help Identifying Steel Tank

At this point, I'm pretty sure it's larger than a 72. based on everything I've found 72 Cu ft tanks are all around 7 inches in diameter and about 24 inches tall. I remeasured and I'm definitely 28 inches and some change. Just kinda want an idea of how much more air I have because I'm a stats...

Argonaut Kraken exhaust loop flooding issue...?

Hard exhaust is the same issue I'm having with mine. I'm glad this post has given me a few things to try before sending mine in! Gonna get an o-ring kit for the dsv and maybe a new exhaust valve and try the silicone seal trick.
