Dive Master Training, Swim Test went back in class

I'm thinking of re-doing my equipment exchange as I'd like to get a 5. I've learned so much since I made the first attempt.

Dive Master Training, Swim Test went back in class

I had the hardest time with the 400m swim, I finished it but not in time so I got a 1. I did much better on the rest of the tests. Pro(in training)tip, have your lead on your waist whilst doing the gear exchange. I had my weights in my bcd and you all can guess what happened when I took the bc...

    Best DSMB?

Between 3-4 ft was recommended by two of the instructors in my current DM course. Their rationale was that longer DSMB's would require too many breaths at depth to deploy if doing so orally.

    Best DSMB?

I'm looking for a DSMB and hoping for recommendations, ideally no taller than 3-4ft, with a closed bottom dump valve, and oral inflator valve. Any recommendations?

Percentage of divers who go beyond openwater?

I got my OW in July of 2018 and fell in love with the sport. I went ahead and got my AOW and RD last year, and two days ago I enrolled in a divemaster program! Very excited, with the appropriate amount of nervousness.

Is there a valid reason for a pony bottle

When I'm alone, I always have someone at the surface, (that doesn't help when an emergency happens at a depth I know.) How I deal with that is I never go below CESA depth. I leave myself the option to ditch my weights if I have too. But I prefer the buddy system and that's how I usually dive.

Is there a valid reason for a pony bottle

I solo dive sometimes and tend to have conservative practices in general(more so when I'm alone) I'm looking into getting a pony bottle, not to rely on but for peace of mind just in case.

New Year’s Day diving - cold weather folks

Haven't done Hutt island yet. I've dived Hallkut a couple of times but did not go the wreck, lots of stuff in the shallows there too. I have a few snaps of the Annapolis before they sank it. Looking forward to heading there in the spring with a new dive buddy to properly explore the outside of...

New Year’s Day diving - cold weather folks

    Favorite Digital Dive Log?

Hey Buddies, I have been using PADI's Scuba Earth for my digital log. It's a little clunky but it's worked. Well, that site is going the way of the Do Do bird and being replaced by mypadi (still in beta). Most of my data from Scuba Earth has been ported over to the new site, but a lot of the...

Removing and putting back kit underwater with integrated weights

I use my integrated weight pockets plus belt. I've had situations where my belt came off and my bc kept me down long enough to get things dealt with. Adding a weight belt may be a good idea, and it gives you more distribution options for trim. Just my thoughts.

    Multi Level Dive Logging?

I like the tables, and I plan to keep my knowledge of how to use them fresh. I do like my computer, I'm still learning how to use it, and how to understand the data it provides. In general, my dives are around the 30'-50' range and it's one dive on a single tank. (I only own one tank), and I...

    Multi Level Dive Logging?

You got it! The original post was about logging dives, and I'm a bit of a paperwork nerd so I don't like leaving boxes unfilled. I'm also trying to maintain good and safe habits. I've seen far too many people with sloppy habits, (not unique to scuba) in various activities I enjoy. Thank you...

    Multi Level Dive Logging?

I just started diving with a new buddy, and on our last 2 dives (4 days apart), we went to about 80 or 90ft max. We adhered to the limits of the computer and stuck to our dive plan. Both of us had one tank and therefore only did one dive. Where I got tripped up, prompting me to ask the original...

    Multi Level Dive Logging?

Thanks, looking at the average depth makes sense and the computer provides that for me. Appreciate the help! Todd
