I've heard that diving super early as the night and day shifts change and the reef awakens can be a worthwhile experience. What I can't figure out is the exact timing of such a dive vis-a-vis sunrise--i.e. do I enter the water an hour before sunrise, half an hour before, or at sunrise? I'll be...
I ended up getting this knife. Reasonably priced, small enough, has a lanyard (I agree that I might drop it without a lanyard), is made of titanium. Hopefully I never need to use it. I do appreciate all the comments.
Blue Reef Scuba Titanium Folding Knife
Hi, I am going to CocoView in Roatan for Thanksgiving week and plan on doing a lot of solo diving.
I mostly do underwater photography so solo diving will work well for my style I'll have a 20 cu ft pony as my backup air.
My question is whether I should get a dive knife and/or shears also.
The Bigblue dive light I got comes with a removable yellow filter to attach to the dive light. It basically changes the color from a bright white to a warmer white and supposedly is better for video.
I wanted to see if anyone has advice on whether to use the filter or not.
Here's my two cents as a physician who does a lot of reconstructive surgery on the eyelid area, and the occasional chalazion removal. Considering there shouldn't be any air pocket inside the incision, there should be minimal risk to the incision. Typically a small incision in that area would...
Does anyone know if the GoPro Hero 6/7's white balance actually works sufficiently at depths of 50-100 feet, or if I'd need a filter as well. There are some youtube videos showing how it auto white balances, but for all I know, those were shot at a depth of 15 feet.
Hi, has anyone tried the GoPro Hero 7 underwater?
I have the Hero 4, so I'm seriously considering an upgrade.
Would I need underwater filters, or is the auto white balance going to compensate appropriately for depth? Does anyone have experience on this subject with the Hero 6 or 7?
Any...
With AT&T as soon as I land in Cozumel, I get a text saying that I can use my phone there in accordance with my US data and phone plan, but there will be a $10/day charge on any days in which I make calls, text, or use data on the cellular network.
Thank you for all the suggestions. I looked into all the options. I agree that the Gobe lights don't run long enough for what I need. I'm giving some thought to the Bigblue lights. For example, the VTL6300P runs for 3 hours at 6300 lumens in flood mode (120 degrees) and can also be used at...
Hi everyone!!
I'm thinking of buying a new dive light, one primary for daytime diving (I have a wide-angle light that works fine for night diving but isn't so great at looking inside nooks and crannies). I like to do 3-4 or even 5 dives a day, so ideally something that has a decent run time...
I currently have Atomic split fins, which I'm OK with overall, but they seem to lack maneuverability. Been looking at a new pair of fins and came across the Zeagle Recon, which is classified as a tech diving fin. Is there a particular downside for using tech fins for recreational diving?
