What is the value of a drysuit class?

other than just learning to dive the dry suit you will learn about how dress and undress and provide care for the suit and zipper. You get that wrong and one seal replacement will be a big part of the cost of the class. A zipper replacement will cost even more. In the water it is always...

    Valve Handle Replacement

I forgot to mention that I noticed this valve is still available in Europe. I was hoping to find something in the US. Often by the time you get done with shipping it might make more sense to replace the value.

    Valve Handle Replacement

Hoping someone can point me to a source for a value handle for a US Divers / Aqualung valve. The stem isn't square like typical but has flats with a round end. I've attached pictures of a handle and an overall photo of the valve.

    Who has had to bailout?

Odd readings from the O2 sensors at the start of the dive. Turned out be a manufacturing flaw in a new head. A lousy 2nd dive on my new rebreather. I now have an independent sensor in my loop.

Request for comments on article - mixed OC / CCR teams

DoctorMike, You can add dilutant to the loop by pressing the purge button on the BOV on the Poseidon. The purge releases lots of air so not sure I'd ask someone to press that button. If you don't have a good grip on the mouth piece it might blow it right out of your mouth. For my unit I'd ask...

Request for comments on article - mixed OC / CCR teams

DoctorMike, I enjoyed the article as someone who occasionally dives mixed team. Diving wrecks in the Great Lakes I often worry more about other people who are on the boat and making sure they understand where my alternate is they run out of gas. I have visions of someone grabbing my loop then...

    M28 Firmware Follies . . .

I'm hoping the next version shows up before spring. Since updates are always "interesting" and with the time-zone difference, support isn't a quick process. I'd to miss dives due to a busted updated. I keep hoping to develop a love for the M28, but I still prefer my Shearwaters and tolerate...

Covid's impact on your diving ...

Had a trip in Feb 2020 to Fiji just before the lockdown, that was fortunate timing. Had trips canceled to - Florida - Roatan - Caymans All very disappointing. Hoping to get some travel diving in Florida in December. Fortunately I have a friend with a boat and managed to dive 3 weekends a...

    Who is still diving?

In Michigan they opened the marina for transient boaters in early July. I think I've had more dives this summer in the Great Lakes than past years, nothing else competing for my weekend time. Ready to be able to travel and do some warm water diving.

FRONT ZIP VS BACK ZIP WETSUITS

I find back zippers to be easy. I ask my buddy for help. I think having assistance with zipping also helps extend the life of suit

Best Dive Log App for Mares Quad Air Bluelink (Bluetooth) on Android

I think the quad air is supported via Bluetooth. The site might not be updated with all supported computers. I'd either try or ask on the google group about support. I'm a happy Subsurface user, just not using the Quad Air.

Shearwater: Dive Log Data (End Dive Delay Setup)

Setup->Advanced->Advanced Config 1 Change the End Dive Delay setting. I set mine to 5 minutes to avoid these issues. I'm sure you can also search the manual for End Dive Delay for more details.

    Scuba Refresher Guide

You might want to consider a quick refresher course with your dive shop. This will give you a chance to review the basic skills and gear assembly plus a chance to get into the water before your trip. Usually isn't too expensive and you will be more confident for that first dive on vacation.

    Great SeaLife Service

Wanted to report on some great service. I had a SeaLife video light that I purchased used knowing it had some issues. I got it working for a dozen dives and then no further luck. I decided to see what it would cost to have it repaired and sent it to SeaLife. Less than 5 days later I received...

High SAC reported at the beginning of dive

What is the temperature difference between the air and water? Cooling the air in cylinder will cause a drop in pressure, that drop in pressure will appear to your computer to be you using gas. Guessing you talked about Charles Law during your OW class which explains this behavior. edit...
