    A change in Boynton Beach

That is a nice boat, and the lower forward cabin has A/C. Strange part of the story is that I dove on that boat 1st week of August, with Scubatyme in Pompano!! Scubatyme said it was their new boat and this was their 1st trip on it.. And yes they were docked right next to SFDH. The "old"...

Unoffical Scubaboard Goliath Grouper aggregation dives Aug 21-2 and Sept 25-6

Went out with JDC Sept 8 and 2 great dives. Flat seas moderate current with 82F bottom temps. 1st was MG-111, viz about 50 and a bunch of GGs. 2nd dive was tunnels, but due to low tide viz was fuzzy 40. Still nice dive with those swim thrus, but no GGs or sharks on tunnels this time. Photo i...

Book a Dive — Jupiter Scuba Diving .. or Kyalami, they are in Jupiter near Jupiter Dive Center (across the channel). That day looks open for them and they take requests.. In my opinion Jupiter is the best location for GGs I would call them asap

Unoffical Scubaboard Goliath Grouper aggregation dives Aug 21-2 and Sept 25-6

Just dove with JDC Thursday Aug 19 Strong current on the Jupiter wreck trek, flat seas, bottom temp of 82F, viz about 50. (Capt did mention the other day they had bottom temps in the mid 70s, so we definetly got lucky) I counted 12 GGs together on the east side of the Zion train, and we spent...

Goliath Grouper Aggregation - Jupiter / WPB / Boynton Bch

Hi to all, Been busy for a bit but now Im back. Due to my work & family schedule, I usually dive weekdays, so unfortunatly I will not be able to attend the unofficial scubaboard GG dives on upcoming weekends. With that being said, Im scheduled on Aug 19 with JDC AM dive, but of course we now...

Is this normal for scuba tanks?

I would not want those unknown particles/material going inside my lungs while under pressure. Other than the diving aspect, realize that at 3000 psi, it`s like having a hand grenade next to you. Even a failure at 500 psi can kill you. Thats why scuba tanks have to be inspected both visually and...

    Jupiter Dive Thread

Not common but it does happen once in a while.... For me, its been in summer months, perhaps due to rain runoff. On one 20 ft viz dive in WPB I was next to a school of reef squid. I've also found that maybe because the marine life also can't see in low viz, these dives are usually full of life...

Trip Report Back in SE FL 2021 part 4

I went out with JDC Monday the 14th, and I thought it was cold because there was a thermocline below 60 ft. Temp went from 82 to 71f. After reading your post, now I consider myself lucky that it was just cool and we warmed right up during the safety stop!! Thanks for posting and hoping for...

New Divers looking for Key Largo advice

My advice.... Just enjoy some shallow dives, and practice some diving when u visit Ft Lauderdale, reefs are in the 30 - 40 ft range and they have several wrecks in the 60 to 70 ft range. Perfect for OW divers. Then when you go to Key Largo, do your AOW with Rainbow Reef. You cannot beat the...

I also recommend the Spiegel over the Duane for newer divers. You'll be at the deck in around 70 to 80 ft or so, and you will also be more protected in case there are any currents. You will enjoy it and it does not feel any different than 20 ft depth.. Wear gloves due to barnacles and fishing...
