    Oceanic pro plus 3 problem

I should clarify that I've *owned* the computer for about 8 years. It was brand new when I purchased it.

    Oceanic pro plus 3 problem

Hi, I have an Oceanic pro plus 3 computer that's about 8 years old and it seems to have a mind of its own and turns on by itself. I'm not sure why this is happening but I was wondering if anyone had any quick solutions. After I had its battery changed last year, I noticed that the battery died...

    Sizing of New BPW

I just purchased a Hollis ST Travel system at a labor day sale event at my LDS. As I was speaking with the sales rep I decided to go with this one because it had a smaller bladder. I'm a short and lightweight person so I don't use that much lead nor would I need much lift anyway. In short, this...

Lauderdale by the Sea- lost wetsuit

Today at around 3pm, I left my 3mm shorty EVO wetsuit (black with yellow strips around the armpits) out on the changing benches on Datura for about an hour or so ( i got distracted packing up), and when I came back it was gone! If anyone has any leads please let me know! I greatly appreciate any...

    Durable travelers fin?

I have the Go Travel fins and I love them. They are very comfortable on the bare foot-no need to pack booties! They look to be the same size as the accel fins. I would go with the Go Travel. These are less expensive than the Go Sport.

    First stage got wet

I'm ashamed of what happened but here it goes. So I decided to dunk my regulator in a rinse tank with the dust cap on. When I removed it, I uncovered the first stage and noticed that it was a bit wet. I let it air out for a few days but the "filter" (not sure what the correct term is for the...

Non-trip report in Pompano Beach FL

The crew was inexperienced, inattentive, they were ok with taking additional divers on the other boat to the point of overcapacity as divers were already on this boat for a separate trip; we also could have been stranded on the water had we successfully gotten underway.

Non-trip report in Pompano Beach FL

Hello all, It's been a while since I last posted. Today, I want to post about an experience this past weekend with a certain dive charter off of Atlantic Blvd. in Pompano Beach which made me feel uneasy about the operation. My buddy and I had booked an afternoon dive this past Saturday and...

    Barotrauma (again)

Hi all, I went diving for the first time in eight months this past Saturday at a shallow reef (no more than 20 feet), but felt my right ear clogged back on shore. This is the second time this happens to me; the first time having happened almost two years ago during a 60 foot dive. It has been a...

Why does water get in my regulator?

Hello, I went diving today with the Rescue a Reef program from the University of Miami to restore the coral reefs off of the coast of Miami. The dive consisted of cleaning the coral nursery, made up of PVC pipe "trees" with coral hanging from them, collecting coral from them, and "planting"...

    Instabuddy diving with a mirror

I should have specified that it was a convex mirror. I'm not sure how easy it would be to use as a signalling device with this sort of shape.

    Instabuddy diving with a mirror

Hello all, Just a question about gear. I went drift diving with a friend of mine off of Pompano Beach, FL on Sunday and we were paired up with a cave diver who had a mirror attached to his wrist. I was wondering what this was for, as I completely forgot about it as soon as we got back on the...

Any diver out there been attacked by a big shark?!

I'm trying to go diving every other weekend (both Sat and Sun if possible) until the end of the year starting this weekend. Mostly shore dives since it's a lot cheaper.

    BCD choice

I own a Zeagle scout and I have to say it is very comfortable and a good choice for the beginner. However, I would not buy it for its travel-friendly qualities as I believe there are smaller, lighter (less features) BCDs for travelling. Also, you don't need to use a weight belt with it as there...
