I'm not up near Millbrook Quarry anymore, but it's where I did my open water certification dives so many years ago :D I'm kind of surprised it's still 'open' to the public. Good luck finding a dive buddy!
True, but I travel with a worry wort who is afraid that we'll never see our gear again if it doesn't make that exact flight :P I keep telling him the same thing...that everyone else manages JUST fine :D
We will be staying (for a week) at this VERY small resort in December 2019-January 2020...how do you divers handle the restrictive baggage on the small flights? I'd hate for us to get there and our gear not make it :O
Good morning! Husband and I are headed to Belize in December. We will be at Coco Plum Island Resort. We have read that there are pretty significant baggage restrictions on the flight getting there. 1) how do you divers travel 'light?' 2) has anyone ever been to this resort and have commentary...
Any suggestions for a resort that 'has it all' in the Caribbean for January 2020? We have been researching for a while now and are stumped. Our top priorities are a proper beach where we can relax and there is good snorkeling, something on the smaller side preferred, oh and (!) some diving ;)...
Good afternoon, all!
I am looking for feedback on two resorts and tried to search the boards here. I am having trouble JUST SEARCHING the forums, however. Instead, the search is searching the entire scuba board site. I don't want to post my questions yet because I'm fairly certain they've...
I tried to search the boards here, but no luck. i am looking for a recommendation on decent kids' dive watches. The boys are 10 and 13. Nothing too fancy, but decent enough to last. TIA
He did really well. I went with the instructor and my ten year-old... I didn't see a thing on the first dive because my eyes were on him the whole time. It's a whole different thing watching your 10 year-old :O. I was able to look around a bit more on the second dive :D We just booked our first...
That's where our youngest is getting certified. He is there today with his SCUBA camp and the rest of us will join him tomorrow while he finishes up his certification :D Looking forward to it!
At least initially, we need to stick to warmer climates. Boys just got certified -- I've wanted a family of divers since long before kids arrived. I want to keep them interested and enthusiastic, so I want them REALLY comfortable in cozy waters for at least the first couple of dives as a family...
Thanks for the replies. Just found Epcot DiveQuest and this might be right up our alley :D Anyone have experience? I may start a new thread on that one or search for it to see if anyone else has already posted about it...
Just modified my intro. Virginia. Prefer warmer areas such as Florida... initially, somewhere closer because we just sank all our $$ into SCUBA camps for the boys - LOL! Will save up for a bigger trip in about a year...
New here. We are a family of four in Virginia. Our youngest (10) is completing his Open Water certification tomorrow. We are always interested in hearing about good east coast family dive locations. Since both boys (13 and 10) are "juniors" we must stick to 40 feet or less... Any ideas welcome...
