Why I will definitely take the Rescue course

Ha ha ha ! That's a good one. I almost did the same thing last year at the quarry when people started yelling "we have an emergency ! We have a distressed diver here !" but it didn't take long to realize it was an exercice (I was about to jum in the water :-S) .

Why I will definitely take the Rescue course

He did ! He seemed shaken up bit when we got out of the water but decided to go for the second dive anyway. I guess he thought it was better to get back at it asap.

Why I will definitely take the Rescue course

Thank you both for the input ; what you are suggesting is exactly that is the kind of knowledge I am lacking right now. I wonder if many people take that course. I mean, is that something as common as Nitrox or seen as a fringe course that, like @MiloR says "it is just Card collecting" ? Just...

Why I will definitely take the Rescue course

I suspect that the diver was indeed overweighted ; when I arrived he was in the water working on getting the right amount of weight. That is the most plausible scenario. I agree with you about the team building or team work ; I had the chance to have a beginner course with a tech / cave...

Why I will definitely take the Rescue course

There was no real debrief after the dive and it was a mistake on our part. He simply told us that he panicked without offering more explanation than that. My guess would be " loss of buoyancy control and panic" like you said. He was fine during the second dive ; it doesn't seem to have affected...

Why I will definitely take the Rescue course

Hello to you all. I felt like sharing what happened to me last week-end. Maybe it’ll encourage some divers to do the Rescue course. I went for a couple of quiet dives last Saturday at a quarry near my place. Upon arrival, my buddy tells me that a third diver would join us. I didn’t know the...

    We have something to share

Yeah, I was curious and asked the question. I assumed they'd go for the preset GF but it doesn't seem to be the case based on their answer that the settings are the same one would have on the Perdix.

Who has experience with Hydrotac lenses?

I had the same problem and bought the ones from Dive Optics https://www.amazon.com/Trident-Optx-Flexible-Dive-Magnifiers/dp/B001ND66T2/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=dive+optics&qid=1593353513&sr=8-2 They didn't stick the first time I put them in my mask but it was my fault. I read the directions...

So What Is Everyone Doing To Pass Time

After doing everything I could to take good care of my gear and doing my best not to make stupid " I think I need it" online purchase, I am reading "Technical diving, an Introduction" by Mark Powell and it makes things even worst ! Ha ha ha I know why I started reading it but it is not easy to...

    Tobermory

That's good to know. Thanks @maj2 for your input. I don't have a logbook though, for various reasons. I only have my DC. That being said, I don't mind going for some easier dives at first.

Thanks very much for all this info @W W Meixner. :) You answer most of my questions and cover details that I didn't think of mentioning, like the food. I aim to stay there for 4-5 days so I don't feel like spending crazy money on hotels and restaurants (prefer putting it on the...

Thanks very much for the info @rhwestfall. That's very helpful. A year in advance !!! :-O Let's pray it is different this year. Mind you, my schedule is totally open which leaves me some leeway, so I'll look into it right now... I've only heard nice things about Toby so I'm dying to go. And...

    Tobermory

Hello to you all I am planning a road trip / diving trip this summer (whenever it'll be possible in the pandemic context) and Tobermory is at the top of my list. I’ll be travelling alone and my schedule is totally open. I have two questions : - Organised group seems to be the norm (from what I...
