I will be in Florida in a couple of weeks. I wanted to do a Shark Tooth Dive in Venice. My buddy checked with one of the Dive Op's and the said that they are closing tomorrow for a month. He contacted another Op and they told him that the vis has been so bad that they are canceling most of their...
I have a question regarding the marine Park fee in Cozumel. Two years ago, each diver was given a new bracelet everyday that we were on the boat. This year we dove with a different dive op. None of us were given a bracelet at any time. Have they "done away" with the bracelets and gone with a...
I am scheduled to be in Cozumel about 1 month from now. I understand that if I use sunscreen, that it should be "Reef-safe" or biodegradable. The last time that I was in Cozumel, I had issues with my sunscreen causing my eyes to burn after a dive (this was not listed as a reef-safe product)...
That's the other issue that I was wondering about. I wasn't sure if the local people/ buisnesses treated Christmas Day the same way that we do in the US, or if the Denero would take priority.
As far as finding a cab to accomadate us: My brother wants to arrange for that, well in advance thru a...
I will be on a cruise with my family (wife, daughter & her family, parents, and brother & his family). We will be stopping in Cozumel on Christmas Day. My brother has the idea of hiring a private tour/cab for the day for the whole family. We would have the option to go where we chose.
I am...
I am selling my Suunto Gekko nitrox computer. It comes with the owners manual, quick reference card and download cable. It is mounted in a Deep Sea Supply bungee wrist mount (black) and has the screen protector installed. Asking $150 shipped in USPS small flat rate box
I am occasionally called to do a "working dive" which usually involves handling cables or ropes that are encrusted w/ zebra mussles, which we know destroy gloves in a hurry.
I normally wear a size XL or 2XL so it is difficult to find heavy utility gloves to go over my wetsuit gloves. I have...
I realize that there will plenty of others to dive with. But, to quote Ted; "I have seen Gilboa". The main reason that I was planning on making the 5 hour trip (each direction) was to help a couple of "newer" divers gain some more experience.
It's just not in the cards this time.
Looks like I'm out. I was planning on bringing 2 other divers. 1 of them has pneumonia, the other 1 is still waiting to be a new Grandpa. We'll have to try for next time.
Does anyone here know how many people are planning on attending? If we are able to make it, we will be bringing our wives. Anyone else planning on bringing the wives?
You can put me down as a "Definate Maybe". I'm planning on going & bringing a friend. However, he may be a new Grandpa that weekend & may not be able to get away.
I haven't looked up the Facebook site, yet. I would rather stay here & not "get started" w/ facebook.
Congratulations on your accomplishment. It is something to be proud of. I got my MSD 3 years ago. There will always be the people that will tell you that your certification is not worth the paper that it is printed on, but it sounds like you know that there is still plenty to learn. Keep diving...
OK, there's a perfectly logical explanation for this :blinking: and after several hours of thought, I have come up with a theory. It may sound a little far-fetched but here ya go:
After my last dive on Saturday, I was abducted by Aliens & taken into the future (which explains the date of...
It's not silly at all. The battery was replaced 1 year ago, when the "battery meter" on my display showed a low battery. That was 25 dives ago. The display is not showing a low battery, but it can't hurt to test it w/ a volt meter.
I have a Suunto Gekko dive computer. Last night I was downloading the 2 dives from last weekend, and an extra dive showed up.:shocked2: It was dated for 8/7/14 , it showed a very sawtooth profile with depths reading from 10'- negative 37'. (How is it possible to dive to -37'?)
The time...
