I just got this tank back from hydro which it passed. I decided to look inside the tank, I noticed this circle inside the tanks - looks like some sort of machine mark or maybe from drying. I am not worried about since it already passed the hydro and they vip it before they hydro it. Just...
I will say I already had to replace the orings on the swivel spool - it started leaking after maybe 25 dives... The green orings looked like they had dry rot; if the orings inside the reg are anything like those orings on the swivel spool I could easily see that causing the issue.
Have you told Halcyon about this theory? Sounds logical to me... When I called Halcyon the guy I talked to told me he has heard of this before in a training video but when I asked him the cause he could not recollect the exact cause and said to send it in or bring to a certified tech. I had...
Hmmm, since the problem keeps coming back after a short amount of dives I wonder if its a lube issue.
To be clear with the tech I did not pay him to do a full service. It was a "quick fix" he attempted to do and it did feel like it temporary made it better. I think he also re-seated the poppet.
I have a halcyon halo regulator that is pretty new, it has less than 40 dives on it. I noticed when I first got it that it did not breath like my other regulators, it was not smooth whatsoever. The best I can describe it is when breathing lightly is takes more effort than my other regulators...
This gets a little confusing when you are talking about the reef number off a boat vs on shore - so what the shore divers call the 3rd reef is really the first reef (and yes those white balls out there are for boats to tie off too). All the other reefs inside of that 1st reef are really inner...
Looking for some gps coordinates for some wrecks and mainly reefs in Martin county and northern PBC (Jupiter). In Broward we have the mooring balls to tie up on at the first reef there, does anything like this exist in Martin county? Ideally looking to do a little bit of spearfishing and catch...
Thanks, Yes I always night dive with at least 2 lights however when chasing the bugs I often need both hands so this looks like it might be right for me. I'll check it out - thanks.
I have been in need of a better lighting setup for lobstering. I have thought of getting one of the headlamps with a li-ion battery but I am a little concerned with these li-ion batteries exploding. I know more than one person who has had them detonate before which makes it even worse if it's on...
Hello,
I logged into my padi pro site (first time in a while) and I knew my padi membership needed to be renewed however I see a message saying (The following professional ratings expired 31 December 2022.)
Does this mean if I do not renew by then I would have to re-take my Divemaster course?
Hey,
I was wondering if an open water student on a checkout dive can go below 60ft with a PADI instructor or is it "against the rules"? If an accident happened would insurance still cover this? I am not an instructor, I did not do this... Just a question out of curiosity on the dive boat. I...
I have read this and it is very interesting however... Newer data shows many different safety concerns and this experiment does not say anything about co2 retention with gas density. Regardless the testing is pretty incredible and makes me think there is much more testing to be done. Thanks for...
Not sure what agency you are looking at but for PADI you need to swim 200 yards and tread water for 10 mins. It is not that hard, the swim will not be timed and you can do whatever stroke you want. The tread will feel like forever but it is also not hard. This is to get certified. To be a good...
