I think the Lube suggestion was for the DIN-Wheel to retainer interface and the threads where they engage the tank valve. I do lightly lube the interface to reg-body threads to prevent seizing when disassembled, but that arguably would contribute to the potential for loosening. - poison picking...

I've had that happen with my HOG D1s. So I do this: Cranking tight before, or Counter-torquing the reg-body when, unscrewing the DIN wheel seems to help to keep things set. Loctite is not unheard of for this type of application - IIRC Early Genesis manifolds were Red-Loctited together as...
