I got certified in Folsom. The viz isn't all that great. I was at Browns Ravine. Don't know if any of the other sites would be better, although I have seen some good viz videos on YouTube.

Has anyone been to Zephyr Cove recently? I'll be going up there for a retreat with a church in my area and wanted to know what the conditions were. Thinking of renting some tanks and weights and maybe diving under the docks or something where it's pretty shallow.

Decided not to go, at least not right away... might do this later on. Thanks for all the input though.

If I go, probably not... I would think that long pants would be a good protection as well, but I've heard that they are only at the beach... We'll see... I've still gotta make up my mind.

Good to know. I'll be going with a local dive shop, so I think we'll be at the resort, That's of course, if I decide to go. Wanted to get some general information from others outside the shop, so that I would get information that they wouldn't really tell me. I didn't want to go with what they had.

I think in the case of the cleanup that happens in Avalon on Catalina island, it's also heavy with Boat traffic, so in order to stop the accidents, they don't allow diving to happen there.
