LF help lobstering in the contents

Get yourself a chart of the lower keys (you can find them at most dive/bait houses around, in addition to places like West Marine). It will have the Content's and several areas to get you started. Dragging around in 10-20 ft. has gotten me more spots than anything else. Good luck!

How Deep is Too Deep for You?

I need a reason to put up with the deco and justify the gas $$$....if the reason is good then the depth doesn't really matter.

    depths you use Nitrox...

I agree with Dumpster, but I tend to push the MOD's a little more, keeping them between 1.5 & 1.6 if I'm not going into deco. Otherwise I plan to keep all my dives for the day within my CNS & OTU allowance.

    Worthington LP95, rust on threads!!!!!!

Don't worry about hurrying over to the LDS. Chances are the tanks have been valveless for days if not weeks already. A day one way or another in an AC'd building won't hurt (change their condition) them a bit. I would however highly recommend that you have them visually inspected before just...

Diving knife - Weapon or not??

Let's get this strait.....Guns and knives don't kill. People Kill. I use my dive knive's for all kinds of things mentioned. I carry 2 all the time. I also use them to administer the Coue de Gras' on speared fish that need it, along with occassionally cleaning my catch. Knives are indespensible.

    HP Hose Failed

Thanks for correcting me guys, it was late and I was just remembering back a long way to the late 70's when an HP hose went on me. Back then they didn't use a pin hole as they do now. Although small the hole was about 1/16" if I remember correctly entering the hose. That baby can pass some...

    HP Hose Failed

OK this really funny....Guys, hose protectors are a good thing. You still need to check your equipment before every dive though. They do go far in keeping down the strains. You should probably replace a HP hose at least every 2 years or so if you do much diving. If you do penetrations then even...

    Side mount config.?

I understand, currently I have worn bottles clipped high, but as I spearfish often they get in the way even up close. I am looking into refinning my rig to lower them an get them out of the way, in what I imagine to be proper side mount configuration. Just found an experienced sidemount board...

    powerhead, what is it?

A power head is the mechanism that holds a cartridge (.223 Cal.) for instance. Once placed in the powerhead it is used in various ways well described above. Many forms of them are illegal without special permits, however they are perfectly legal to use for taking fish in federal waters, usually...

    Side mount config.?

Thanks karstdvr...I respect your opinion. Don't know any sidemounters personally. I really wanted to get a feeling for the set up and ways is may differ from deco bottle side mounting (for my trimix diving) not so much for caving, at least at this point. I hope to get around to cave diving.

    Side mount config.?

Thanks everyone I will check them out. I was kinda wondering about mounting the wing on the Transpac I got to try this out. In hindsite it seems my Zeag. tech BC may be a better bet. Thanks also for your recommendations!

    Side mount config.?

Can anyone direct me to a site that explains proper side mount configuration? Is it just as simple as the standard deco slings? What about the lack of redundancy?

Newby on a mission - what computer?

OK....the VR3 is just mean to get a beginner hooked on, never mind the size for a female! Heck I leave my weights at home when I use mine. I would recommend you get at least a EANx computor, to begin with. I have found the Cochran commanders a good one. They are easy to read and operate, can...

    Citizen Watch Warranty?

Just a thought on replacing batteries....you may find a local repair fac. that can replace and Nitrogen test your watch for you for around $25 on the spot. I have done this a couple times since I've had mine. Don't know what the factory is charging but it probably costs more than that with just...
