It's pretty good Not as good as Cozumel, but you are on the Pacific side, after all. You can do everything deep water, wrecks, shallow reefs, or sandy drifts. It all depeds o what you have time for.
3'-5' is pretty ordinary conditions and when I used to dive there, that much surf was never even a concern to thumb the dive. I wouldn't do it now, but 4-5 decades ago, I never would have thought twice.
I was having the same problem on a recent dive. Changed out the O-rings in the DSV and the loop is dry as a bone. The water enters the purge hole and the hard breathing and gurgling begins. Easy fix.
It's not the same thing. It's a current production model. Unfortunately, the Icon is out of production, and if a suitable used model becomes unavailable, then current production is the only way to go.
I'm glad they are keeping the Icon look and display. They problem that Mares had with the Icon was too low of a margin. The new computer looks to be more in line with a MSRP that could make the enough money to keep it in production. At least if my Icon dies and I can't find a working used model...
I have experienced some minor discomfort with my rear root canals and caps. It took 3 sessions to do just one root canal, due to the multiple branches, so mine aren't a common case. I've never had pain, just a small, dull ache on deep dives.
In California, anyone over the age of 18, who is willing to take on the liability, is able to pronounce death. I've declared more people dead than I care to remember. When I worked in Orange County, we would on a very rare occasion, load someone up that we knew was dead, but that was only to get...
Back in the '70's, one of our "advanced" dives was to bounce to the max depth that we could follow instructions. I had zero indication that there was any change, except that I felt more serene and confident - all the way to the point that I forgot to put the regulator back into my mouth after...
The replacement battery from Mares IS a larger capacity battery. They no longer make the low mAh "spec" batteries. The "spec" is an 18650 battery, which now has a larger capacity.
I LOVE the tank color codes, especially since you can program them to represent any pressure you wish! I can read the numbers just fine, but the color is a great stand out feature.
ANY modern 18650 battery over 2100 mAh will work. The prior post that supposedly came from Mares was either complete BS, or they were starting to try to scare people into not buying replacement batteries. The charging circuit works just fine, it just takes a little longer to fully charge a...
