Looking for dive shop & or charter contact in Marquette, Mi

If you haven't already, you might contact the Lindquist's in Munising to see if they know of any operators in Marquette. I believe they occasionally run dive charters out of Munising too. The Smith Moore is worth the visit! Shipwreck Tours - Glass Bottom Boat - Munising, Michigan

Straits of Mackinac Preserve photo contest

Just to clarify, someone asked if photos for our photo contest (see above) needed to have been taken this past summer. They do not. I know there were photos taken in 2008 that made it to our calendar last year. So, if you have a catalog of old Straits photos, exhume them and enter the contest...

Straits of Mackinac - Dry suit only for July/Aug??

I had 46 bottom temp and 48 deg above 40' two weeks ago. That is always subject to change. I dove dry, as that's all I have. 5mm would be a too thin for me, but I'm a wuss. I would want a 7mm suit/hood/gloves as spectre suggested.

    Who wants to dive Cedarville?

30-40' vis is average for the C'ville. The C'ville isn't know for great vis, but she's big, so you can only take in a little at a time anyway. It is a great wreck! I think it is the way she sits and the prevailing wind and current flow. The vis is usually better, 50-70', on most of the other...

    Who wants to dive Cedarville?

I would second or third the chilly May condition warnings. Shoot for June or July. July, if your doing it in a wetsuit. I also agree no need to go to the mud. Lots to see between 50-80', on both the stern and bow. The vis on the C'ville is never as good as it is on most of the other wrecks...
