Battery kit/o-ring size for Oceanic VEO 4.0

Bought an Oceanic VEO 4.0 last year and need to have a spare battery/o-ring available. I have used the same kit for the VEO 180, 200, 2.0, but since the 4.0 uses a screw in back rather than the (annoying) pressure fit back I decided to check if I can use the same kit. Battery is the same...

    Any reason to avoid scuba.com?

I live not too far from NYC and have used them as my lds for years. This text is from their web site: We strive to give our customers the best possible service. We offer rentals if you are traveling or starting your certification, in-store servicing of your gear, tank fills and more. You can...

Question Best Dive Masks for Guys with Beards

Can't recall the brand, but fit is critical. Bruce (rip) at Carib Inn bonaire spent like 20 minutes fitting a mask to my face. Ended up choosing a relatively cheap mask, like $35-40, I think Scubamax. I still clear often, but that's life with a beard.

Bought an Oceanic Dive Computer at an estate sale. What model is this, and is it worth what I paid?

Hmmm, is that a VEO 180? 180 is definitely 1 button. I had been using mine as a backup until I got a VEO 4.0 last year and now my old 200 is my backup.

Trip Report Bonaire March 2024–Dead reefs

Definitely get yourself to the south! Vista Blue is our favorite site. Also for a totally different experience book a trip with East Coast Diving on the wild side and get to see dozens (or more) of turtles!

Trip Report Bonaire March 2024–Dead reefs

Been following this thread. And of course it's upsetting. But what is the choice? Give up diving in the Caribbean? I will be back there in May and will enjoy getting together with old friends, the weather and yes diving. We've dove enough in fishless, zero viz lakes, etc so whatever the...

Fast Moving Coral Disease Alert on Bonaire

Yes, and from back in 2020 as well... I was on Little Cayman Dec. 2022 and on a blown out day we took a tour of the research facility. They said that at that time neither Little nor Brac had it. They said that the way the current flows they did not expect to get infected from it flowing...

    Stonington Point, CT

I haven't dove there, but have been on the beach. Couldn't you go in outside of the beach area? I seem to recall it being a more difficult entry, but doable...

    San Salvador

Years back CM was pretty restrictive on your dives. 45 minutes max, etc... Especially so if you were not buddy diving. I recall when they started offering nitrox I said to Jean Paul, why bother if you are going to limit me to 45 mins. He said 60 is fine and we never had an issue again...

    San Salvador

It really does draw you in doesn't it? This last trip I really wanted to look at condos, but my buddy/wife vetoed me ;) I didn't realize Jean Paul worked at RR. We have been going to CM and he has been there the whole time. He now owns/runs the dive op there. The diving is still very good...

    Is the town Pier closed?

One of my favorite pics taken there in 2008... If I remember correctly, shortly thereafter a tropical storm hit and damaged the pier. They never reopened it for divers.

    Trip Report Curacao-Go West Diving

We did All West/Go West back in 2015 last and we have been going to Bonaire annually for like 15+ years. No you will not be disappointed. Easier entries, longer swim out. Similar reef/animals. If you are only going to do a few boat dives try to get on the day they do Watamula. Crazy cool...
