Forget about the silence, longer turn points, warm air and lower HE costs. Best thing about CCR are the tanks. 😀
It is such a nice feeling to bring in some 3l bottles while others are carrying the big double sets. 😇
This might be a Pepsi or Coca Cola Question, but I’m still going to ask it. 😅
Next spring we are going to Florida with 3 CCR divers and 1 OC diver.
We will need to rent all tanks. Any advice in what shop to contact? Cave country dive shop or Amigos?
Thanks in advance.
I do flush and try to keep a high po2 for the first 10 minutes or so but that’s mainly because I can use the practise, when I’m tiered of doing it manual I get in lazy mode and finish my deco at my high setpoint.
I would be more worried about the hose protectors then about the scratch. 😇
They catch dirt and salt, they hide damage, sometimes they make the hose routing weird and most important > they look silly.
Doing your intro in France shouldn’t cost a fortune.
Flying to France from Egypt and renting a appartement there for 7/10 days isn’t that expensive compared to all the other costs of cave diving in general.
And there is nothing wrong with that, just don’t drive it like it’s a Porsche.
You might have a lot of xp with being narced at depth and you probably handle yourself ok in a situation like that.
The problem starts when all rec divers think it’s fine to go deep on air, more accidents will happen...
If you want to dive go tech, if you want to teach new people how to dive then go DM.
Still to become a good DM/instructor it wouldn’t hurt to atleast have some knowledge off propulsion, trim, …
Getting a CCR to do LOB’s or guided dives with OC people, seems like a lot of extra work and you don’t gain anything from it.
If your dives involve doubles and some stage’s then it becomes fun to swap the doubles for a CCR.
I only dive on CCR for 3 years, so it’s only thinking out loud here and definitely not advising.
If you don’t have a separate DIL bottle I would assume you need 2 DIL\BO bottles, like the D7 on the GUE JJ’s?
Isn’t it otherwise like diving with a single 20L for example instead of a D12 in OC...
Then again so many Cmas divers that do deco dives can’t hold their stops half descent. They hang vertically or they keep swimming/moving or they have to stay on a line…
Follow some intro to tech course, use a good instructor. The agency doesn’t matter aslong as the instructor cares about skills.
If you don’t have a car it might be a solution, not a safe one for western standards.
Pretty sure you won’t enjoy the bike ride, so if you would do it to combine hobby’s then you will be disappointed.
