    Great Sacandaga or Lake George

Would love to see more phots when you get a chance! Frank is a great Captain! Next time you need to dive the Radeau, it is the oldest intact warship in North America. Maybe we can hook up the next time!

Dive Training article: Lessons from Cave Diving

I believe the subscription for new divers is only six months. But that is only if the instructor fills out the form and sends it in. There is also a free ipod app. And its always free at your LDS, makes a good reason to stop and see whats new!

    Computer?

Take a look at the Subgear XP 10. Similar to the Aladin Tec 2, but not all of the advanced features. Great starter computer, or back up. I believe the wrist mount is under $300. Start with that and if you want to upgrade later, it can easly become your backup.

    Simple, easy Octo holder?

The fastex clips are modified so they do not lock, a sharp pull and they are free. We use them on all of our gear and never have a problem.

    nitrox and maximus reg

The only upgrade I did to my Maximus was take it off the air tank and put it on the Nitrox tank! If its properly serviced there should be no problem up to 40%. It`s time to find a new LDS!

    diving from an inflatable boat

We use a 18' Achillies with a 65 horse engine. Always anchored, gear on in the boat, roll back entry, gear off in the water, big kick back in to the boat. One person in the boat other in water handing gear up. The first few times getting in is tough, but once you get the hang of it it`s easy.

    Gear serviced by non-authorized dealer

Contact Scobapro and see if they are an authorized service center. It`s Scubapros warranty, and they will make the call if there is an issue with your equipment.

    Does your BC slide-up?

Add a crotch strap. My girlfriend had the same problem with her BC and we just added a crotch strap, problem solved. We have a local shoe repair shop do our BC mods they have sewing machines that can handle the heavy material, just make sure they don`t damage the air cell.

    Do it all regulator.

We use only Sherwood Regs for all our diving, both Blizzards and Maximus. I have had my personal Maximus in warm and cold water, under the ice (and will again next weekend) and in caverns. Service should never be a issue with Sherwood as they are workhorses that need little service, and are...

    Sherwood Regulators

Go with a Blizzard or a Maximus, with a standard octo. I have both and never have problems. Even had both under the ice.

    Geneisis Recon clip buckles

Anyone who deals with Trident should be able to get you a 2inch Quick release clip. If it`s not the same replace both sides. If that won`t work replace the the whole strap with weight belt web and use a standard buckle. You can also get a cumber-bun extender from Trident, I assume that is also...

Lack of bubbles in Sherwood 1st stage.

Sherwood regs are designed with a dry bleed system that keep them evironmentally sealed ( air press. escaping prevents anything from entering ) As said before sounds like some water entered the first stage (likely by rinsing without the dust cap on, or imersing the first stage in water when it...

    Regulators for Ice Diving

I dive exclusively Sherwood. Never had any issues, warm, cold, ice, deep. All I have ever used. My LDS was all Sherwood for many years, all the instructor use them. And all but the newest PS Teams in the area use Sherwood, (There are 8 in a 50 mile radius). Blizzard and Maximus are the top...

    LeisurePro vs LDS Package quote

I think one of the more important considerations is, where will you have you equipment serviced when it needs it? Some LDS will not service equipment that was not purchased from them. What is the local cost vs shipping back and forth? Also some manufactures offer lifetime parts, but only from...
