The crew were great, but the Okeanos 1 we were on was a dump. Hope they will retire it soon. For similar cost (after all the extra charges), it was a lot worse compared to Argo according to my dive buddy who's been on both last year. We were there during xmas, and we only saw a few lonely...
Thank you so much! I did get a copy & paste email from Iguana after posting here, but she didn't answer any of the questions I submitted in the lengthy booking form... what a waste of my time. I ended up booking with Academy Bay online and paid 1 day deposit two weeks ago. I think I will just...
I booked a week to GPS in mid to late May. I couldn't find a liveaboard that fit my schedule and my recent poor experience to Cocos with Aggressor (both in terms of diving and onboard experience) made me decided to do land-based this time. I know I will miss out Darwin and Wolf but I can live...
It is very Apple to limit the DC for recreational use only for liability reasons. Apple is pretty much guaranteed to be named in a lawsuit if someone dies. An independent developer probably puts themselves at risk without a liability insurance.
I had 6 dives with the Ultra along with my Teric last weekend in Cozumel. Good to see that the Apple Watch ultra and my Teric registered the same info:
same depth (apple watch rounds up to the nearest ft while Teric goes 1 digit after the decimal point)
same dive time (+/- 1 sec with auto...
Got mine today. Of course the Onceaic+ app is not yet available but the depth and temperature "Dive" app does work.
I do like it so far as a replacement for my existing apple watch 6. The UI is fluid as usual and definitely much better than any Garmin watches I used. I don;t think this is a...
Mine is arriving Friday. Will test it as a gauge along with my Teric in Cozumel next weekend. It seems the Oceanic+ won't be ready on launch and I may pay for a day or month just to test it out but no way I am paying the $80 annual subscription. Fingers crossed open source apps will be available...
it probably needs daily recharge (36 hrs, and up to 60 hours extended). But at least it is relatively easy to charge apple devices with power bank these days.
This is amazing! I am glad I didnt buy the Garmin Descent MKII with 30% off promo.
I will still keep my Teric + AI of course but this is an excellent backup for someone who wears apple watch anyway.
Yes, it is likely Oceanic - since Huish Outdoors is the partner for it.
Apparently they are having problem keeping instructors and the greedy owner couldn’t care less whether the divers can dive or not as long as they pay the $ to stay, and then left the poor staff to deal with angry guests upon arrival. Very disgusting.
If you are coming to Tetamanu Village for the full moon grouper sprawling next week - be warned - you probably won’t be able to dive unless you booked elsewhere already with Top Dive etc.
The owner of Tetamanu Village Sane Richmond seems like a terrible boss and treated his dive instructors...
Great to hear! I am heading to Fakarava in a few weeks. I am gonna order a pair of atomics for this trip. just realized it is only 2.8 lbs, 0.2 lbs heavier than Go fins and 0.4 lbs lighter than Seawing full foot.
