    Grocery store questions

Pictures? I've seen lots of almond butter, sugared up stabilized "PB", I think cashew butter, maybe even sunflower seed butter, but never "Peanuts and salt" peanut butter.

    Crown Ridge houses

I've rented more than a few houses with pools on Bonaire, never seen an iguana in a pool. The only true swimming iguanas are in the Galapagos islands. I have had them hang out on the pool deck and poop on it.

    Grocery store questions

My two cents, if your adventurous in your eating and drinking don't bring a thing. Yes Beer and Meat are more expensive, but they are bad for you and you should cut back anyway 😜. The only thing I consider bringing is peanut butter, it's handy, travels well, and can be hard to find.

    Question December trip

I believe the boat operators avoid the shore accessible sites on the main island. This means you miss a good number of the better sites.

Question Resort diving when you are by yourself

I would recommend Curacao, kind of ideal with non diving SO/Kids. You can dive at beautiful beaches while they enjoy snack bars, full restaraunts, lounge chairs, get a massage etc. many have on site shops where you could hire a guide or find an insta buddy maybe tag along with an odd numbered...

    Recent outage

Given the current political climate it is always concerning when a valuable source of information goes dark. Glad it's back and intact.

    Question Advice on strobe lights

Light weight compact reasonable price decent video and still performance. I would suggest the backscatter MW-3400. These are from a TG 5, with just the MW 3400 was traveling light on a non diving trip to Plays del Carmen the green most is with light of and on. The primary drawback is on longer...

Where would you open a dive shop?

No Mr. Snark. He did not. I know it was his sole source of income and allowed him to put his children thru college. I know from others who knew him better, and from the general decline in the industry that it was running at a fraction of the volume it used to in the years before he shut it down.

Where would you open a dive shop?

The guy who ran the shop were I got certified back in the 1990, closed not long ago. He seemed to make pretty descent living off of it. However, I'd wager the last decade or so it was mostly a "Hobby", giving the guy something to do aside from wasting away watching TV. Probably breaking even or...

TG photos, Show us what you shot.

Saw one like that rolling in the sand in a clump of algae. When I got back from Vaca I'm going through the pictures and I'm like why did I take this one, took me a minute to find the guy, an eye gave him away, this one it's the mouth.

    Brand new Backscatter HF-1 flooded

I feel your pain, first dive with a new system on Curacao the camera housing flooded. Luckily it was a TG-5, so no damage, and I was able to take on all the shallow dives the rest of vacation. The O-Ring that came with the housing from Olympus was defective. While greasing it I felt a thin spot...

Question TG6 + Strobe - tips on nailing focus and where the bloody strobe is aiming at!

Get a strobe with a focus/modeling light built in. Preferably a multi power one with a red mode. The red seems to spool the subjects less and attracts less critters like sea licea and other small swarmers. Otherwise it's test shots on land til you can set a distance blindfolded

Overweighted at beginning of dive but underweighted at end in shallows

For Faber hp80 It's a 6 lb delta, -8 to -2. so if your neutral without it, your always a bit negative with it. Like I said.

Overweighted at beginning of dive but underweighted at end in shallows

You are often painfully pedantic, an Al 80 is typically 1.8 pound negative when full, and 3.8 pounds positive at 500 PSI. Since you and the tank maintain volume throughout the dive (barring the generation of, or expulsion of, GI gas) the net effect is a weight loss of 4-5 pounds during the dive...

Shore diving in shallow water (sloshed around by the waves when underwater)

This seems to be turning into some sort of inquest...

Shore diving in shallow water (sloshed around by the waves when underwater)

The depth of the wave action will depend on the height of the waves relative to the depth. 2 ft waves in 5 ft of water would be like 16 ft waves in 40 ft of water. A 2 ft wave at 40 ft would be almost imperceptible.
