Attaching a torch/flashlight to your BCD so you can use it but not drop it.

Get a retractor, especially if you are talking about a smallish light. Some things that would have used a couple C-cell batteries. I keep one like that in a BC pocket with the retractor clipped to a d-ring inside the pocket.

My Wife is finally giving Scuba a try - what can I do to help her succeed?

One suggestion I would make is to have her take Sudafed, the 12 hr. type the day of, and maybe some land based gentle ear equalizing practice in days before.

    Bonaire once-in-a-lifetime vacation

From the southern hotels you will be walking along the un-improved shoulder a good bit of the way. You can preview the route on Google maps using the street view. This is out by the airport.

    Bonaire once-in-a-lifetime vacation

Google says about a 1/2hr walk from harbour village. 1 hr from bellefonte, 11/2hr from delfins For clarity, I put the in town destination as Karl's. Also, I tend to walk a good bit faster than Google's pace, and suspect most able bodied people would too.

    Underwater Photography Gear (Beginner)

I would also recommend the TG series cameras, they take excellent macro and good portraits at 3-5 feet from subject under almost all conditions. As Rilelen's shots show you can also get great wide angle large subject shots with sufficient practice, skills, and favorable conditions. You can get...

Where to go: July in Americas/Caribbean?

You could save a little on the diving by hitting shore dive destinations. You didn't mention if your traveling solo and solo certified or with a diving companion. That could alter recommendations Cayman Brac/ Grand Cayman 10 days between the two. Bonaire/Curacao 1 week each. Use the shore...

Question Suggestions for First Non-Caribbean Dive Trip

We have considered Red Sea, Maldives, and the leading contender currently is the Philippines. My wife has little interest in liveaboards, so while not out, not really considering either. Preliminary research shows a combination of planes trains automobiles and boats will be required, 3 to 5 days...

How do I overcome seasickness on boat dives without medication?

As Johndiver999 said, sea sickness generally is a result of a discrepancy between what your inner ears are telling you is going on and what your eyes are seeing. Anytime I get a subconscious inkling of sea sickness, I reflexively get up and move around, I like to hang onto to something over...

    Curacao, Cayman, Turks

The order of your post if price is a concern. Otherwise, I would suggest Little Cayman Beach Resort (never been but have heard nothing but good things about them), for a week and a couple of days on Grand Cayman to make the travel easier.

    Regulator mouthpieces

Replacing the mouth piece would not qualify as a modification in my book. Just order several different types from an online store. Pop them in your mouth while driving the car or jogging or something. Which ever takes the least damage is probably the best one for you.

    Daydreaming of Curacao

How about at night? We saw quite a few big fat ones on night dives back in 2020.

    A new normal...

Get low dose edibles made with Indica Strain extracts. Indica is supposed to be the Body High strain. This is of course all second hand knowledge, as I have no personal experience since I have no med card and it is otherwise verboten in the enlightened state of Pennsylvania.

    Diving Bonaire's Salt Pier (video)

Some really nice shots in there, you should consider a shallow water red filter for the wide angle long shots. They really do help with the "washed out pale blue" look you get when there is a a lot of sand in the frame.

    Orca attacking whale sharks

Isn't there an animal planet TV show based on that premise? Maybe the Orca are watching? I blame Willy, sharing all those bad habits and ideas he picked up in captivity.
