New SWIFT™ AI TRANSMITTER and New Firmware Release

Yes, I made a custom image with that resolution with my basic contact details (white text on a black background). It was sharp and crisp after previous firmware updates but currently looks pixelated and even misaligned (what looks like a row of white pixels on the left and bottom).

Spring Straps Too Tight (Deep 6 Eddys)

Good point. Don't really think they can exchange it as I bought them 2nd hand, but will try! Thank you! (Apt username too btw!)

Spring Straps Too Tight (Deep 6 Eddys)

Hi guys, Just wondering if there might be suggestions and solutions out there to help with my predicament. L Deep 6 Eddy on long, slim foot. Fits well width wise but the straps squeeze my foot uncomfortably hard even at the loosest screw setting. I'm not aware of lengthier spring straps that...

Fins: Deep6 Eddy v OMS Slipstream

I've moved from XL jets to L Eddys, because the jets were too negative and ruining my trim. I've got a long slender foot so the XL Eddys left a bit too much lateral wiggle, but the spring straps on the L were a bit tight. I put the straps from the jets on them and they're fine for me...

    Perdix AI - transmitter activation

You might have to contact Shearwater for an unlock code. "This Perdix is locked for AI capabilities. Please contact info@shearwater.com and request free AI capability code. Enter code in System Setup > Unlock" on the packaging apparently. I remember reading that some units were shipped with AI...

Securely Attaching Weights To Shoulder Harness

The pockets I have on the backplate and the tank band are similarly high. I've tried that with no appreciable difference. Any suggestions on how to stop a weight pouch from sliding on the chest webbing?

Securely Attaching Weights To Shoulder Harness

Looking for ideas on how to securely attach weights to 2" shoulder webbing on a BP/W BCD. Already have weight pockets on the backplate itself, but when I'm diving with 2lbs there isn't much else to do except move it further up. Any ideas? Might want to add that I typically use weights from the...

Plan B for diving? Other activities or the entire trip?

    Malapascua In July

Seems like July isn't a good month to be visiting Malapascua, with many operators offering "low season discounts". I'm not too bothered about the rain - I'm going to be wet anyway. Unless it's so bad they cancel trips. Any opinions on whether it's worth visiting or try again at the end of the...

    Eddy Fin Strap Bolt Material

There's some whitish green corrosion happening on the bolts holding the fin strap on. Safe to use a steel brush bit on a rotary tool to get rid of it?

    Neutral-to-positive Tec/Cave Suitable Fins

Currently using a pair of XL SP Jetfins. Tried a DM's pair of Seawing Novas and really liked what it did for my trim. Didn't realize how much I was fighting to maintain a horizontal attitude till then. Any recommendations for fins with similar buoyancy characteristics as the Seawing Nova but...

Odd Numbered Dives - Pay For A 4th Tank For The 3rd Dive?

Bronco, tbone and Mike, thanks for your replies. Will go through them and digest further. I do agree about a massive failing should two divers be OOA. Never happened before nor will I hope it does. Unlikely that my BM singles buddy has an equipment failure and then I do on one side too, you reckon?

Odd Numbered Dives - Pay For A 4th Tank For The 3rd Dive?

Sorry, should have mentioned, yes recreational SM. I'm looking to build experience diving SM before considering tec diving. As a result I'd probably like to try to dive with a setup and conditions that would inculcate proper SM & tec diving procedures and habits. Mike, I haven't seen a tank to...

Odd Numbered Dives - Pay For A 4th Tank For The 3rd Dive?

Hi guys, Making 3 dives a day isn't uncommon. The first two can be made with the first pair of tanks no problem. What about the third and last one? Swap out both for a third and fourth tank? Move a 2nd stage over and dive with one?
