Starting Technical diving GUE Vs TDI VS PADI?

he hasnt been criticised here and maybe he shouldn't blanket label a community based on one encounter. its nothing to do with gue. it would be the same response from me with anything else.

Starting Technical diving GUE Vs TDI VS PADI?

I agree but that is not the point. @PfcAJ ‘s and my question to @Doc Harry is why is he saying that as if all the instructors had a bad attitude. It’s not the content it’s the way it’s presented. One personal encounter doesn’t mean anything to represent a whole community.

    Advanced Gas Switching

2 day class for hypoxic dives? No offense and it’s just my opinion but maybe you should just do the class before asking about it on an internet dive forum as you might get different inconsistent opinions from internet divers who aren’t qualified in that area. Good luck and enjoy :)

Are you qualified to do hypoxic gas dives?

    Drysuit noob questions

No company or business has a perfect reputation. Santi service is widely regarded as very good. It’s why a lot of GUE and non GUE instructors, explorers etc use their products. What is the reason of saying your point when we all know not everyone gets a perfect suit. They’re custom made by hand...

Starting Technical diving GUE Vs TDI VS PADI?

Youre painting it as if all GUE instructors have a bad attitude? probably have not met any or only met one or two? Failed a class? personality clash? Where is this coming from? Just because you don’t like someone doesn’t mean you have a bad attitude. What is your perspective that your saying...

DIR- GUE power inflator failure T1

You’re right but I think I’d be fair in saying the problem is most divers wouldn’t even know about that to begin with.

    Choosing harness for TEC Dive

Not trying to be rude but you don’t need a quick release. Your shoulder strap *should* be loose (if it’s tight, your trim will not be good and you won’t be as comfortable) enough to where you can get it off with drysuit and thick undergarments by yourself. First 50 or so dives with it will take...

Hoods and being choked to death

Did it not all begin in Italy during WW2? I suppose US, Italy, and France were developing scuba at the same time.

    Choosing harness for TEC Dive

Single one piece harness. Go to Halcyon webbing because it’s not too soft not too stiff ( sounds funny but it’s true) and the Hs act as visual references - make changing your shoulder strap length equally a breeze.

    Drysuit noob questions

Northern Diver drysuits are made in Asia (China) now. They used to be made in UK and then they moved out to get better profit, their quality control is bad and I would not buy a suit from them.

Starting Technical diving GUE Vs TDI VS PADI?

It’s all based on the instructor and not the agency, except for GUE. With GUE, you can’t go wrong apart from selecting different personality and teaching styles. They have standards and they follow them.

    Drysuit noob questions

I’m fairly sure Santi don’t drop their price even if you go to the factory and ask. I heard this from someone who tried to get a factory discount. Santi customer service is excellent, from what I’ve experienced and what I’ve heard from others too. It depends where you are in the world. Also...

    Drysuit noob questions

As long as it fits, keep you dry and suits your needs and budget - most important points. If you want to do shallow recreational diving, maybe a neoprene or compressed neo suit is for you if you live in really cold waters. If you want more technical, get a trilam with front entry, good pockets...

DIR- GUE power inflator failure T1

Why do you re open your right post? Will it not still keep inflating? I’ve had this happen on a continuous low inflate, did what you described but ended dive instead of reopening, wasn’t sure what the problem was so I thought it would just continuously inflate no matter what.

Drysuit squeeze and feet over head

Apologies - my bad. You are right. I misread it and thought you were telling him to do a somersault or something weird with full gear on.

Drysuit squeeze and feet over head

So you basically want him to have an epileptic seizure on the surface to "help with mobility". Placing your undergarments where its comfortable is part of getting dressed before the dive, not just before you descend. Sure, do your own thing though.

Drysuit squeeze and feet over head

As @PfcAJ mentioned, its simple. You're getting squeeze because you're not adding enough gas to the suit. Solution - You have to add enough gas so its comfortably snug. If you feel very uncomfortable, could be your suit doesn't fit right with a large bubble moving around. or its a stability/...

Boat diving.Do we have it all wrong?!

I agree with @helodriver87 points and I will add that the conditions in general can be *much* harder in the Atlantic Ocean in Ireland than what most of you deal with. So @mac64 surely a higher fitness level in Ireland as conditions are harder should be more prevalent? I get what you mean though...
