they aren't user updateable any longer afaik.. well, I guess you could solder a usb header back yourself and try but otherwise you would have to send it in for service ?
Looking at the warpcore manual, I think what he is saying is:
Each warpcore layer is 4P2s (8 batteries) creating ~96 Wh (travel safe)
Not sure where the 8P1S comes from..
If I were to build a battery I would be switching to newer tech than 18650's though.. 21700 at least
4P2S means 4 parallel, 2 serial.. in LIION terms, that is a 14.8V battery with e.g 2*5000mAH=10Ah capacity
8P1S with same as above is a 29.6V 5Ah battery
I've built a custom 20Ah battery that works perfectly with the tech, neutral after removing one of the weight plates from the cap and some of the balance weights on the tail end. With a smart bms I can disable the battery hence keep it in the scooter when not charging and turn it on/off as needed
you will be hard pressed to find anything decent for under 1k$, especially with a functioning battery etc..
you could look at getting a pair of blacktip travels, one each, get 4 battery packs for them and enjoy a lot more diving..decent entry scooter but new will set you back around 1.7k$ each+...
Yeah, so much this..
Although I haven’t owned the bt tech for too long, I have a friend who just got his genesis 2.1..and wow.
Not really worth it for me, but if the cuda x world be closer around 4K then it could be worth getting in a year or two. For 7k.. not a chance compared to the genesis
based on the smart-bms I have checked and will be using for future build..
connect to phone app, app allows viewing each cell voltage (too discover dead/lower charge cells), allows to turn of output (so you could leave battery in the dpv without creep drain), tracking use over time etc..
I have noticed that cruise turns off when doing a barrel roll.. probably trigger somehow gets pushed or so.. tried this repeatedly 4 or 5 times.. as soon as handle is upside down it disengages.
Sure, cruise is a safety issue, but then, so is diving
jump speed is just a shortcut to 6th gear (or whatever gear you set in vesc tool..you can easily customise this).
scooter will behave just like normal after. if you tripple-click again, all it does is tell the scooter to go to 6th gear. if already there, nothing will happen.
cruise control is...
btw, for those of you using different batteries.. for my DIY batteries I have used stick on wheelweights to get them to match same weight as dewalts etc..also, this maked it a lot easier when adding some other stuff to the scooter (compass/lights/better handle strap) that added weight..I just...
Cheers for the pic,
that does look quite similar to my planned pack (using lg M50s 10S4P) apart from the ptb connector, that does look sweet ;) I was just going to use velcro or so but perhaps I can get a simple 3d part printed instead.
Depends on the airline though afaik.. best bet is to just remove the sticker showing Ah.. No problems when I flew to/from Japan with DIY batteries well above 100Wh total..
if you want it to be small and easy to travel with, then sure, get the travel..but yes, it will not be in trim any way.. otherwise, the tech is great, both are neutral, but this is easy to trim flat
straps I trim somewhat and then tuck it in under the clip..the housing strap I keep a bit longer to make it easier to undo. carry one is fairly short.
Front clip, mine is about 20cm from the cap to the bolt snap ring
Dry suit as much as possible, even when it’s quite warm.. I’ve dived dry in 28 degrees, breathable shell suit with thin underwear underneath.. great for liveaboard as I definitely don’t feel as tired as most others after a day of 4-5 dives. But I do have a 5mm when I do some fun diving in 30+...
Perhaps if we put together a simple test protocol for people to follow, we could gather a few sample readings from different transmitters and compare, this way we could probably decipher the different parts. Eg if first part doesn’t change between transmitters, second and third only then most...
yeah, this is the most practical way, you can donate like this, you can easily clip of like this, you can easily switch etc etc.. gripping the reg like this is the one-way to do everything else. It becomes muscle memory and no need to have any other grip
