    1x YS-D2 or 2x YS-01 , opinions please.

Thanks guys, The canon m5 15-45mm lens is what I'll be using, which gives a 24-70mm adjusted focal length with crop factor taken in. I'm now leaning towards a single higher power strobe. Still not sure on S&S D2 or an Inon Z330, anything else is above my pay grade.

Australia - Limited time so what to choose between Sydney and GBR

I've only dived Magic Point once last April. No Grey Nurses but bucket loads of Port Jacksons. Then did Dee's Ditch off Randwick Golf course on the same dive. Lots of fish life. $300 for a guided dive to The Steps is a bit steep. I'm sure there are others here who would take you for a case of...

Australia - Limited time so what to choose between Sydney and GBR

The seals are out for you realistically. They only come to Wollongong just south of Sydney during the winter from June to September. Outside of that you then have to go 6hrs drive south. There is still plenty to see off Sydney, probably the best diving within one hour of the CBD of any city...

    Domestic Australia Airlines

Qantas will let you (not officially) take one small wheel aboard and a "hand-bag/backpack", provided you store the small one under the seat in front of you (which in todays squashy seats, can be a challenge). Don't overload your wheel-aboard if you cant lift it yourself, people get a bit ******...

regulator cannot be in carry-on baggage in Fiji

Can someone tell me, what's the big deal with packing regs in normal luggage? I carry all sorts of delicate stuff in luggage with never a breakage.

regulator cannot be in carry-on baggage in Fiji

Yeah, but that will happen anywhere, not just Fiji. Seen plenty of people lose wine at HK and Sin airports that way.

Best areas for new divers in Fiji

I first dived while in holiday a Mana Island of the coast of Nadi. Fantastic holiday resort not just for diving. They have an onsite dive centre (part of the Aquatrek group). 100s of great dive sites within 10-50 minutes from the island, but also loads of not diving stuff to do. Snorkeling is...

    Wetsuit for Sydney Diving

Hi Fred, I was in last Saturday off Kurnell with Abyss, water temp 18. I had my 5 with a 3 shorty over the top. 3mm gloves and hood. Was good until the last 5 mins of 2nd dive. Everyone on the dive had something under their suit for that little extra. Can't do Friday dives as I have a real...

    front zip

If you are diving with a buddy (which 90% of us should be) self removal shouldn't be a concern. Comfort and warmth should the priority.

    Tipping at restaurants?

San Fran, LA, Denver, New Orleans, Miami, New York, and Vegas. I'm pretty much comparing major cites with major cities in Australia. And it's not just Australia, I'm in New Zealand this week, 2 nights dinners in Auckland CBD, under $30usd each including wine per person. One was a touristy...

    front zip

Ever had a zip bite that loose but of skin at the front of your neck. I've often thought about water ingress around the neck line with front zip, it seems back zip it's easier to get a good seal.

    Tipping at restaurants?

I think you Americans are getting ripped off with this tipping scam. Why do I pay the same or often more for meal in a restaurant in the US than I do for the same in Australia. Yet you then have to add 20% tip in the US. Yet our wait staff are paid a "living wage" and provide the same level of...
