Hi David, thanks for the info. Unfortunately it’s only the size marked underneath which read small-medium. No indication where it was made. Although I picked it up from an op shop in Labrador QLD. Can one place this around 70’s? Collectible? The rubber is in excellent condition and the original...
Hi folks, any idea on this beaut set? All I can find is that Hanimex was an Aussie company that purchased Turnbull P/L? Seems pretty good nick for its age. Thanks.
Thanks for the helpful info. Yes, it does say made in Taiwan. Instead of the farallon logo, it's got oceanic stamped on it. I want to use them again and fit spring straps. Just not sure how to remove the original ones and what size/length of strap I need to replace it with. Some say just pry off...
Hi guys and gals. Scored this little beaut! Just couldn't get much info on it. All I could find close to it was an oceanic fara fin x. Apart from the straps, they're in pretty good nick. Collectible?
Thanks Tridacna. Just have a couple of sets with me. I'd hate to admit it but I got bitten by the collectors bug. This coupled with my OCD tells me why not? Hahaha. Cheers for the tip on the air 2!
Hi. Recently nitrox certified. Got an SB MK10 Spec + M5 combo. Can this be serviced/retrofitted to run Nitrox? Was thinking of running this as my dedicated nitrox set up? Also have SB MK200 and G200 combo that I can use. Live in Queensland, Australia so mostly tropical and sub tropical waters...
Yeah, I'm really keen. I'll give both regs a test run this week at the local pool and I'll let you know how it goes. So far, plan is, I'll pair the mk5+d300 with a glide 500 and I'll use the mk10+109&108 occy with my knighthawk. Both BCD's have air2 so it will be a mix of old and new. Hahaha.
Thanks for the clarification guys. Next question, as I mentioned, this is brand new and hasn't touched by water. Should I use it or just admire it in a case? Hahaha. I've got what I'm assuming is a MK10 spec beside it. Should I service this and use it instead? I've also got a serviced 108 and...
Hi folks. Here are some close up shots of the first and second stage. As far as I've checked it's an MK10 as per the Scubapro website. It has 4 LP and 2 HP ports. Main difference I saw between the mk5 and this was the hourglass shaped dust cap. Experts out there? Comments? Just got back from a...
Hahaha. I'm now a little confused. I'm here in Cairns for a work trip and didn't really bring this set with me. When I pick up my mk5 & 108 that I had serviced next week, I'll get them to test this new set. Getting me excited!
Thanks for the inputs. Makes me excited about this chance find. It's pretty much brand new complete with price tags and price stickers albeit faded. Saltwater hasn't had a chance to touch this beauty yet. what level of tear down do I need a tech to do on this unit?
Hi. New to the forum. Chanced upon a brand new MK10 paired with a new D300. Price tags still attached and not a scratch on both items. Question is, being a new "vintage" would I need this looked at before I start using it? I'm planning to use this with glide 500 BCD with air 2. Any thoughts...
