    Lake Diving?

My wife and I will be diving Smith Lake tomorrow. It will be our second. The first attempt was called after about 20 feet. It was way to cold for what we had on (shorties). The viz was bad too. It had rained hard in the late morning hours and the boat traffic had picked up big time so the...

    Air bubbles coming from mask?

I have the same problem right now with my mask. I have had my mask three years and this summer it has developed the leak. It is at my LDS and he has suggested it may be something that can be repaired. I would take it in for inspection/repair before you have the 'blow-out'.

Earache and no medicine ... conclusion

The MD still associated my MIDDLE EAR infection with the weekend of diving. I don't understand how this works, I am guessing that's why she is getting paid the big bucks! But from what you have suggested, I am assuming that Don's recipe would not have prevented this? (I was of a mind that I...

Earache and no medicine ... conclusion

I have been browsing this forum and hijacking other people's threads asking questions about treatment and such, unintentionally actually, but it was taking away from the people who posted. So, I am creating this one, which will appear as so many others I am sure. But, if you have never had the...

Recovered from Middle Ear Barotrauma (The Testament)

How did you know you had blood in your ear? I finished my AOW last weekend (three days ago) and my left ear feels swollen (internally). I do not have congestion and I do not have any drainage, but it is VERY sore, even to the touch. I am hopeful that time will take care of this. Randy

    Hello From Cullman

Enjoyed the conversation with the both of you. The wife and I will be back down this weekend (looking for a place to spend the night if anyone has any suggestions). What classes are most prevalent for AOW?

Let me take the heat off of my LDS, They only require Navigation and Deep. It was my mistake. At lunch today, I went to the shop and signed up for the course. All of you are correct, and helpful, in realizing that time of year, location, and diver preference are the main contributing factors...

    Do you regret.....

It would be hard to say regret since where I grew up, scuba was just not a word in the vocabulary. But, I certainly wish that I could have learned this much earlier. As already mentioned, the wrecklessness of my youth may have been expanded, but diving off the highwalls of strip pits could not...

Good morning Florida conch Divers. It has become very affordable to travel to Ft. Lauderdale from up here in N. Ala. and I would like to take advantage of the opportunity while it exists. I have not been to Ft. Lauderdale and would not know how to begin setting up the lodging and diving in...
