The link below indicates that the Sherwoods that are/were used at McMurdo are/were an older (1991), modified Maximus model (SRB3600), not off the shelf Blizzards. I don't know if the Maximus regulators have been removed from service. It's an interesting read if you have not seen it before and...
Here's the the diver's narrative from another chatboard

You weren't joking about being in central VA. Buckingham is as central as it gets.
I teach also, so I'm somewhat flexible about diving at Lake Phoenix during the summer. Also, take a look at the Richmond Dive Club. There are a lot of good people there, though it is a hike for you. We go...
The diver was Dumpster Diver. I believe he was using a diaphragm 1st stage and the diaphragm blew.
Here is the link to the thread.

I use Scubapro Jetfins. A lot of people say they are hard on the legs, but I think that is undeserved. I like them because they have a lot of power in a compact frame. They also store well in my small gym locker because of their small size.
I've used the rubber swim fins provided by the pool...
Would this work for you?
DiveLogs - Blank Paper Dive Log Refills.
They offer Write in the rain as an option. The issue is water based ink. If it needs to be waterproof, then waterbased stamps and pens generally won't work. I think you are aware of this, so I'm just presenting an option.
I did some calculations in Excel to determine when the gas supply for an AL80 does not exceed the NDL for a given depth.
I calculate that the gas supply is the limiting factor until between 70-80 ft on air. The gas supply is the limiting factor until between 100-110 ft on EANx32. You gas...
The Catalinas are actually slightly less bouyant than the Luxfers, at least according to the manufacturers specifications:

I don't...
I'm not in manufacturing, but below is my estimate. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Aluminum is going for about $1 a pound. An Al80 uses about 30 lbs of aluminum. A 10% tariff would mean an increase of about $3 per cylinder.
What concerns me the most is that if the factory couldn't get the ACD properly torqued on a consistent basis (I assume this is the case because the recall only applied to regs that had not had an annual or other service), how do they expect the international army of LDS-employed Aqualung...
Subsurface is great. Run away from ScubaEarth. It is a disgrace. I have a hard time believing that anyone at PADI is monitoring the site. I've never received a response from tech support. ScubaEarth feels like it was some summer interns project. The only nice things I can say about ScubaEarth...
If anyone is interested there is a DIN Conshelf XIV supreme available on eBay with yoke adaptor. $100 with no bids. I'm not associated with the listing. I just thought I'd let's folks know, since they don't show up that often. The listing ends in 4 hours, so it has a short fuse...
I saw we were both in Richmond after I posted. I used Richmond Dive and Travel. Zane Frye was the instructor. I thought he was great.
FWIW I did my Red Cross FA/CPR/AED class through VCU. It's $90 for the general community, $70 for rec sports members and $40 for students. I forget what the Y...
I took that Red Cross class before my rescue diver course last August. It satisfied PADI'a requirements. You can always double check with PADI or your instructor
