What was the best training you ever did?

That may sound weird, but passing a master then an instructor level in freediving change my awerness of my scuba dives. I didn't learn anything technicals like ER but the course was physically challenging. With it, I discovered what my body was capable underwater and I've been amazed by it...

Which area is DIN valve popular at?

Except in the US, when you dive in cold water, you'll mostly see DIN valves. And I agree, it's so much nicer to have a 10lx300b steel than a big 12l or 15l !

    AOW, Jr vs Regular...

AOW and AOWJ are the same, there's just a limitation on depth and yes, it's better to do it than pick some courses, so I agree with Diver0001. For the last point, I don't really see a difference between doing it on holidays and at your place since it seems to be the same condition. It may be more...

    Identifying a skilled rescue diver?

I had a client when I was still a divemaster that entered the first stage of hypothermia. I asked him several time prior that if he was cold (it was our second dive in 18° water and he was wearing a 5mm complete suit without gloves or hood) and he always answered no, but at some point, when I...

Need a drysuit? Bring your questions to this roundtable!

Great ! For a trilam : 1 : What would you suggest the best valve would be when you dive with a sidemount ? (Like that ? Dry Suit Option - Move Dump (DIR) - Seaskin Custom Diving Suits) 2 : Would you add ankle weights (still because of sidemount) directly on the drysuit ? 3 : Latex socks...

    Course for an uncertified diver?

SSI have an experienced diver test : "The Experienced Diver Test is intended for divers that have lost proof of certification, or were trained as a military, commercial, lifeguard or scientific diver. Divemaster Internships

With the price of the DM now, you're not gonna make 2-3 month in Europe with your budget, that's for sure, but in Asia you won't have any problems. It's the biggest place that does that, so there's a lot of different opinion, but Ban's in Koh Tao is great for learning. Leaving in Thailand is...

Ladies: What do you wear on liveaboards?

If it's warm enough, I don't mind staying in my bikini, but when I work, I keep the bottom of my suit, dry the top and put a fleece jacket to warm up between dives. If I do more than 2 dives, I dry and put some normal clothes on. For underneath the wetsuit, have you try to find shorty for...

Cannot find a reason for AOW certification

SSI offers different "validations" for divers, you can get an account for free and log your dives over there and at certain point get a card that proves you have reach a lot of dives. That may be the best solution without paying a dime for any other training.
