UTD trains that you place things you WILL or likely will use in you right pocket. Items you will use rarely/emergency be kept in the left pocket. For example primary smb and slate in right, secondary smb, backup mask, and surface signaling gear in the left.

I understand that theoretically quick connects are a potential point of failure, but does anybody have the actual data on rates of failure per X number of dives or data from other industries that use these?

Sorry for the confusion, I meant that Scuba Caribe is going to keep a boat in Bayahibe. They service most of the resorts in PC and have split a charter with ScubaFun. It could get crowded as they are usually mixed scuba & snorkel charters.

I would second dhboner's recommendation. Catalina Island is worth the trip, Scuba Caribe should have there boat running down there now, it should ease the crowding and it will be a newer boat. If you just want to get wet the dive sites off PC will do, they are 5-10 min. off shore so it is quick...
