Favourite treat for sharing after a boat dive?

Sour Octopus Gummies. I started sharing these on dive boats this summer and now I don't have to bring my own because all my friends got themselves addicted.

    Caye Caulker

Just got back from a week on Caulker. We had a group of 12 experienced divers and did 4 trips with Frenchies. 2 half day trips - Esmeralda and Spanish Bay, 2 full day trips - Turneffe North and Blue Hole. The diving was exceptional - I'll post photos and videos later this week -- sharks...

Headed to Monterey. What should I do?

MaryJo runs a great operation with BeachHopper II which I highly recommend. For shore diving, Aquarius dive shop offers guided dives and I like their shop for any gear / tank rental needs. We did a 2 tank trip on BeachHopper to Aumentos and Eric's Pinnacle on Tuesday in pretty amazing...

Trip Report Bonaire Trip Report - August 18-25 @ Buddy Dive

1st Trip to Bonaire. We stayed at Buddy Dive and did 20 shore dives and a 2-tank trip with East Coast Diving on the wild side. My overall favorites were Karpata, Boca Bartol, 1000 Steps, Salt Pier, Alice in Wonderland, and the Wild Side dives. Going back, I might try snorkeling a few times...

    Boka Bartol

Had a great dive on Boka Bartol this week - strong currents but worth it for garden eels, green morays, big schools of black durgon, and a sea horse.

Going in October, I'll post a report once I'm back!

    Experience with Teric

Based on my experience to date, the transmitters will go a very long time with good batteries - I'm at 100+ dives on one battery and still no battery warnings. I usually purge between dives, but don't always remember after checking pressure on the new tank.

Looking for dive buddies in Orange Beach, Gulf Shores area.

Attitude is everything. Niuhi's DM's are accomplished spear fishers and eager to help - problems mostly occur with self-proclaimed 'rockstar' divers with unrealistic assessments of their own dive skill.

    Charters not accepting certain agencies?

The good news is you are not short of choices to get to the O from Pensacola!

Looking for dive buddies in Orange Beach, Gulf Shores area.

The best regular charter for lionfish / spearing is Niuhi Dive Charters in Pensacola. Let them know when you book that you're interested in lionfish - some trips will be better than others to increase your chances. Realize that the more popular wreck sites usually have slim pickings as are...

Are Suuntos really more conservative for rec diving?

My comparisons were all based on Zoop vs Aqualung i300 (all of the current i series use the same algorithms so results would be similar with a i450, i200, etc). Profile for comparisons: ~85' 1st dive 65-70' 2nd dive all on Nitrox 32 ~1 hour surface interval +- a few minutes. NDL's dive 1 were...

    Seeking recommendations for Kuching, Sarawak

We didn't due to weather which was real disappointment for me. Did you get to the wrecks? How were they?

Are Suuntos really more conservative for rec diving?

My experience with a Zoop was very similar vs Aqualung's current PZ+. Essentially same the 1st dive, consistently 11-12 minutes less NDL on the Zoop dive 2 after 1hr SI and diving 60-100' depths. I did around 20 dives with both to get a solid basis for comparison.

    One-flight Malaysia from Singapore?

Just did Kuching after a conference. Great city with plenty to do topside. We unfortunately weathered out on trips to the Japanese wrecks but had a fun day on the local reefs with Ernest from Premiere Marine & Scuba Center. Diving options are fairly limited, pretty much one 2 tank trip each...

Advice for Family Florida road trip with some divers

You'll be passing right by Pensacola on I-10 - plenty of good diving options there without needing to backtrack on your trip.

    Woefully inadequate HP80'S

Weekly Pensacola / Destin diver, HP100's are pretty much the everyday go-to for the locals. Nice margin over 80CF tanks without a large size penalty and familiar to most shops in terms of filling them to rated pressure. Some of the DM's will dive HP120's as they have to do tie-in and un-tie...

    Seeking recommendations for Kuching, Sarawak

I'll be in Kuching this month for a conference. I've been doing online research on the available dive operations that go to the nearby WWII wrecks - but any Scubaboard advice would be welcome! Thanks!

    Tek Virgin

I recently completed TDI AN/DP/Helitrox with Below 130 Diving in Pensacola, FL and it was more impactful on my diving than any prior certifications. It was also by far the most challenging and rigorous. Our class required 6 full days of diving/instruction split over 2 weekends and we all had...

AquaLung Mikron question (cold water capability)

The ScubaPro regs will have no issues with HP tanks. I ran the yoke version on my HP100's at 3500+ PSI and as long as the tank o-ring was healthy there were no leaks. A total non-issue if you go DIN. You can convert the ScubaPro regs to DIN easily and cheaply if you switch later. mk17's and...
