Question How to clean the shield on Suunto Vyper

It just snaps on and off. Just pop it off and clean it, then snap it right back on.

    Roatan vs Utila

Caribe Tesoro is at the north end of West Bay beach. West Bay Beach is 1 kilometer long and is rather nice with resorts lining pretty much the entire length of it. It is a short water taxi ride from West Bay to West End. Personally, my wife and I like Half Moon Bay in West End better than...

    Accounting and Chart of Accounts

Doesn't Quickbooks have a sample Chart of Accounts that you can use to set yours up? Without knowing everything you intend to do with your business it's going to be difficult to offer any assistance. You'll need to set up accounts depending on exactly what your needs are. But don't worry. If...

Robert “Doc” Adelman aka Roatan Man

Very sad indeed. Going to miss his posts and although I never met him in person, we did engage in a few threads concerning Roatan. Condolences to the family.

Question Suunto Transmitter on Scubapro MK17: Which Flow Restrictor?

As far as I know, the Suunto transmitter is proprietary to Suunto DCs only and won't work with any other brand. Have you even checked to see if it will work? I'd be surprised if it does.

Bought an Oceanic Dive Computer at an estate sale. What model is this, and is it worth what I paid?

Nope, the 200 has 2 buttons on the front. How do I know? I'm sitting here looking at one. It clearly says Veo 200 between the 2 front buttons.

My dive computer is too conservative, what can I do ?

I, too, have used the Vyper Novo in the past. I actually did like it, especially the screen layout, and only had a couple of times when I had to surface a little earlier than I thought I should due to NDL. I switched to an Oceanic OCi a couple of years ago for 2 reasons: the transmitters will...

    Diving "Conservative" vs Nitrox

My question is...do you think he's diving differently on nitrox than he is on air? If he is, then why would he? Divers generally dive the same way all the time. If he's moving "too fast" in the last 20 feet on air, he's almost certainly doing the same thing on nitrox. So for me, that negates...

How old do you plan to dive til?

No target date planned as of yet. I'll soon be 68 and still love diving. When will it be time to stop? I'll know when I know. Until then, I think I still have quite a few dives to do.

    Roatan for Solo Traveler

Exactly right. When we were in Roatan last June/July, there was a liveaboard (I'm assuming RAG, as you put it) parked just off Bailey's Key for several days while we were at AKR. When we moved down to West End for the rest of our stay, it was parked just outside Half Moon Bay for 2 or 3 days...

    Rental computers and newer divers

I agree that is very irresponsible of the rental/dive shop to not at least set the computer to the proper mix setting AS WELL AS the pressure settings he was accustomed to. Or at least, showing him how to do it himself since some computers will set back to the default air setting after it has...

I was just wondering the same thing about its location.

Good Time to Dive North Carolina

It really doesn't matter on the NC coast. We go to the Morehead City/Beaufort area every October for a 4 day weekend. Most of the time, it is really nice with warm temps (both air and water) and calm winds. In 2022 when we were down, it was cloudy with rain almost the whole time we were...

Good Time to Dive North Carolina

Fort Macon in Atlantic Beach is a nice visit if you're a history buff. Just cross the causeway from Morehead to Atlantic Beach and turn left at the traffic light. You'll go straight to it. The Aquarium is really nice. It is bout 6-8 miles south of Atlantic Beach. Instead of turning left to...
