i don't have exact answer .. but after experimentation i think it has to do with flash only operates at full power for some time then it starts to lower gradually like a curve but when you cycle from high-low-high it resets the curve and causes more faster battery drain
@stuartv actually 2500 nor 1600 will run 4 hours on 1000 like 1100 model does i tested that myself..
you need to know that changing power modes of 1600-2500 while flash is on will lower total run time significantly but people keep thinking they might save time by alternating between low\high...
@scubadiver888 it won't last over an hour on 1600..
@Anthony A. 2500 brightness simply destroys both 1100 and 1600. it might be my favorite xtar flash.. for scuba i thinks its overkill for freediving\spearfishing its 50\50.. i didn't have chance to do many dives with it so i can't give...
it takes exactly 10 minutes until it drops light power to something like 1200l.. this was the main problem for us while spearfishing with 1600 since the battery won't last an hour.. this problem is kinda solved in newer model 2500
I have been playing with 2500 for a while now.. its a step up from 1600 with some problems fixed.. battery life almost same as 1600 but the light is much better for diving day\night but im not sure you will like as beam angle is waider.. we spoke last time and you wanted narrow angle for murky...
i leave my battery for days or even weeks.. never had serious problem with old d26 but with new models leaving battery for a week or two could get me up to 40% less charge
in your case i don't think there would be any difference from full charge..
The new Xtar Line discharges way too fast in OFF mode.. i noticed it first in my d08 and now with d26 1600..
the new 1600 model led indicator is sometimes inaccurate (i have it flickering on 5% and it keep working for more than 30 mints full power)
a review brought to you by Scuba\Freediver enjoying night and day diving doing lots of spearfishing and photography so don’t expect lots of numbers in this review :P
For the last two years xtar d26 1000 lumens was my perfect light. it had the perfect balance between power and runtime but there...
you can remove the buttons by simply pulling them out with any tool u like.. but cleanin the buttons and removing the rust is pointless unless u're extremely lucky.. the magnets once rusted their power will change thus the computer can't tell if the button pressed or not and needs...
Im originally a freediver.. when i started scubadiving the first & most thing i hated is scuba suits..
i know freediving suits wont last much but im gonna try my luck with daiwabo suit which should resist compression the most.. my question is which thickness is best for temperatures ranging...
im in libya and due to the conflict in the country its hard to send it back to a dealer.. any way the process would take at least 3 months which means no scuba diving for the whole period.. so getting the buttons is gonna be a life saver for me since they're really easy to install
