Strange experience on first wreck dive. A shallow narc?

Possibly alternobaric vertigo (unequal pressure in each ear). I've had it from time to time and it makes you a little dizzy. Alternobaric vertigo - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Wish it was mentioned in the open water classes, since it can be concerning if you don't know what it is or what...

In Search of a small Titanium BC Knife- anybody know of any?

Blue Reef 3" Titanium Knife, Point, non-folding (do a google search it's pretty common) I have this one and it's nice and compact. I don't need to worry about drying it off after dives...although it does come a little dull so you may want to purchase a sharpening kit (make sure it's for...

    Down 6 lbs

I went the slow route and took two pounds off at a time. After diving with someone who was on their first post-certification dive this weekend. I now know why instructors tend to overweight students....

    glo-toob

Personally I think they should redesign the caps. There really dosen't seem to be enough compression on the large o-ring (there is a smaller one on the switch shaft) Probably just making the groove shallower that the ring sits in would be good enough.

    glo-toob

There was a few of these a year ago that leaked...there's a thread here somewhere about this. They had some bad caps. Anyway mine leaked last year and the company was great about replacing it. I finally got to test it out last night and....no more leaks. Unfortunately I wasn't able to...

POLL: Erroneous pressure readings in VYTEC

Thanks. I'm going to put on a spare SPG and I'll send it back if it keeps doing that. Joe

POLL: Erroneous pressure readings in VYTEC

Any word on this? Mine has been doing this the last couple of dives. I get a quick 3-5000 pressure reading and then it goes back to what it should be. It then tells me I have 0 air time left and beeps...I may suck air, but not 3000 psi in two seconds. :D

    Absurd dive equipment

I can't find a link, but there was a electronic depth controller that would add and remove air from your BC to maintain neutral bouyancy. It also had buttons for up/down. Apparently it had some problems compensating for breathing.

    Hatenberger or Greenforce?

The catches lock and would be very hard to open accidentally. Also I'd get a quote on the price before you rule it out. I'm not sure what the going rate is, but mine was a lot cheaper than the msrp. I got mine here: http://www.nwsportsdivers.com/

    Storing/maintence of Dive Lights

It is better if you unscrew the light head to relieve pressure on the o-ring. It also lets any moisture in the light evaporate. I'd suggest either taking the cap off or leaving it way screwed out so that you don't accidentally dive with it partly open. The o-ring should be replaced if it...

    Tank light

I have a krill light (green), but I don't think its really bright enough. I prefer the glo-toob light. It's a lot brighter and can be purchased here: http://www.sarcamp.com/store/viewItem.asp?idProduct=438 http://www.sarcamp.com/store/viewItem.asp?idProduct=427 The FX version has a...

    Terkel 4.5 amp HID Review

I believe the handle is adiprene also and it clips nicely to the light head. It allows the light head to rotate freely so the wire doesn't become twisted. The width is not adjustable so you may have to order the larger one if you have large hands.

I would definitely get a quote before you make your decision. I've been very happy with my terkel light.

    glo toob

Been meaning to post an update. While it looks cool this thing is now going in with my camping equipment because it leaked on the first dive Cleaned it up and tried on my second dive and it leaked again. Back to the kriana light I guess....:(

    Rviews of Halcyon Scout light.

One of the supposed advantages of the halcyon light is that the bulb is not overdriven like most lights making it less likely to fail. Less bright, but more reliable. I'm not sure how the Manta stacks up here...but for $20...

    Hi from Texas

Hi welcome from Austin. :hi: Also there is Aquarena Springs. Which is pretty clear (although you have to take a course). Do a search for that and you'll find lot's of info in the Texas Swamp Divers Forum.

    Optic Correction

You can buy a prescription mask. That should help with reading a compass or a computer as well as seeing what is around. If you wear contacts you can also wear those underwater. Good Luck. As far as the "ALL CAPS" versus mixed you'll find that to be a common complaint on mesage boards...
