Just got back from 2 week stay and I have to say I'm the most pessimistic about the reef than I've ever been. From other posts here I wasn't expecting (though looking at posted vids I guess I should have been) to see so much bleaching! Our first dive (at Camp Bay) both my wife and I were...
oh, but can I be part of the gang if i've never been? Lol. I might do it someday but my one stay at an "all exclusive" turned me off big time. I know CCV is different but...
yeah, you need to upload the qr code from precheck. it should show up on the verifly checklist. Latest I saw of FB is American Airlines in Miami might have clued in to the fact that the system is broken and will allow boarding without precheck but I'd hate to find out they weren't at the last...
I jumped through the hoops to use alternate link to get it done just because i don't trust American Airlines to let us on the plane without it. I know it wouldn't matter once we got to RTB but with Verifly and AA burocratic bs I wanted to have all my pdfs to show them.
Wow, that video really caught my eye! The reefs and life look great! Started looking at other posts about RA and dreaming about going. Then I saw this opportunity:
Last minute deal
If anyone is looking for a steep discount and can find a way to get there relatively soon it seems like a great...
@Grateful head , Yeah, that sounds like Ricky and really the whole Seagrape crew. They make everone feel like family! Ricky left SG sometime during the pandemic when they were still closed and he found work at Sun divers. Hugo is now instructing at SG and Kevin is the lead DM.
I don't; it doesn't fit me very well.
I have a couple mares low volume masks that fit very well. a Star and and a Tana (I think). I prefer the Tana but star fits just as well on my kinda bony face; both are cheap too.
Also had a great low volume mask from Piranha, no idea the model but it...
Just got back from down there. I was checking in with Sun Divers because one of my favorite DM's is there now. They were pretty busy and are running (2) two tank dives a day to try to fit everyone in. I only briefly spoke with Ricky but it seemed they're doing 2 tanks regardless of the location...
Yup, to am; 9 and 11 I think? Then an afternoon, 1pm? They usually put a night dive on the board for one night a week and go if they get enough interest. You can also schedule a south side trip (Mary's Place plus another) or other two tank trip but it will cost more and there as to be a minimum...
If you're staying at Seagrape, don't worry about it, Mariella will take care of getting the tests. You can either walk over to the clinic (near the round about) or they'll come to SG. Take the test the day before leaving and results are available next morning around 10am.
My first impulse is to say no, it won't effect the range. But thinking it through it probably does when compared with 2 tank trips. Going up to the Odyssey is about the max we've gone East with SG and obviously it would be more economical to go further east once you're there. It's not "normal"...
@riceowls I see you're from Houston. Any idea what's up with the American Airlines direct flight IAH - RTB? We originally booked our "usual" flight through IAH and after a number of changes are now routed through MIA instead. It seems that they've limited the direct Houston - Roatan flights? I'm...
I'm biased cause I've been going there for many years but I'll recommend Seagrape 100% for diving and would also suggest staying there over Lands End. Seagrape is a family run business and they are great at making you welcome. Their bungalows are pretty nice, semi private with porch and hammock...
heading to Seagrape in March. American Airlines just sent us our 3rd (or is it 4th?...) flight change today. Our preferred flights are Vancouver to either Houston or Dallas first day then to RTB the next day. We booked that profile originally then had a couple minor changes. Then they hit us...
https://www.barefootcay.com/ might interest you. No home reef that I know of and not as dive intensive as CCV but it is south side and I think it would be considered an above average hotel.
