I was thinking something similar, but then realized market economics was against me. If supply is unchanged (operable boats in favorable weather), then prices shouldn't rise if demand goes down. The result would be even less demand as prices rose, and that would be counterproductive.

Just returned from our Keys trip and I wanted to send another thank you to you all. My wife flew in to FLL very late and it was easy to pick her up. Flight was significantly cheaper, too, and so that was a big consideration. She won a free dive at RRDC so we'll be returning within a year...

Definitely do the Sombrero Reef at night. It's probably the best night dive I've ever had.

The Dali Museum is in Tampa. If you want a beach, diving is available anywhere you see a coastline in Florida. And there's a lot of coastline. You might get more responses if you decide on a location first. We don't even know where you're coming in from.

Do you have to carry DM insurance if you're not employed in that capacity?

Just returned from a Key Largo trip myself. I haven't been there for 2 years. Quite a change in the reef conditions imho. Does anyone have a report for Marathon or Looe Key reefs since the hurricane?

If money is an issue, consider hotels in Homestead or Florida City. They can be considerably cheaper. It's a 30-minute drive to Key Largo but there's no traffic that early in the morning to meet the first boat. And it's a beautiful view on the way.
