The situation will vary depending on other factors - current is a big one -hypoxic gas is another
im not in favour of struggling with lots of tanks on a boat where a slip will cause injury - If your doing 5 tanks its likely a significant dive and youll probably have support divers. you can hang...
I have a yearly insurance package with DAN and extended travel ins benefits - just bear in mind that if you get sick on a LOB you must have a doctor to say you aren't well to dive - so if theres no doctor on board your out of luck
With allianz theres a clause that states you can only claim one...
totally - I did a trip recently carrying gear one hour through the bush to do a cave trip -hurt my knee and that put more workload on the others to help - next time well hire a farm quad or something
Id say the DAN disclaimer is based on the data profile of the typical diver in regard to age and weight and maybe sedentary work
I know for myself I find its pretty hard work carrying gear and if youve got a light current its hard work over a long dive
Its not that they wouldnt be capable of doing the dive its just that there are more and more gaps appearing in their knowledge and training which increases the chance of it going pear shaped and the balance shifts from you diving with a buddy to you becoming a dive guide and its not so much fun...
some information has been better researched and theres more up to date knolwedge
equipment has got better and probably more customisable
Dive computers play a significant role now
theres probably more awareness of hazards and things that can go wrong in the training and general diving community...
with practice you can use the dry suit to put a bit of air in the feet ,it feels a bit odd but it works -the rk3 are on the light side but I dont think they have the forward thrust and power that the heavier fins do- have you could try a longer recreational fin that are light an will give you...
I think it depends one what you are using it for especially if a failure is potentially life threatening - if your deep in the back of the cave for example - if your using to play around and have fun then a cheaper one his fine and perhaps is easier to sell as an entry level scooter.
