The southern end of Bimini has the most easily accessible wild shark encounters in the Bahamas... there is a shark research station there. No rodeos or chumsicles for me, thank you very much!! :)

Whale sharks in San Sal? I remember seeing a pic of one in the bar, and being told it was like a once-a-year thing. And, btw, just to reply: I saw RRI in disrepair over seven years ago... I am more than happy to hear more recent reports that it is in good shape.

Island House is great for a B&B... don;t worry about getting around, everything is pretty close. Closer to the [few] restaurants and bars, and the dive shops, another smallish place is the Salt Raker Inn; ask Erika for the second room that I (Richard Podos) stayed in. Osprey is more of a hotel...

Robert's Grove is one of my favorite places in the Caribbean, not just Belize! That's partially cause he and his wife are New Yorkers too, and try to deliver to that standard of quality (up to and including serving pastrami Reuben sandwiches!!). One or both of them are pretty much always there...
