How do people recommend attaching the XL size securely? I have an Artec PLB1 that could be nice to carry in case of emergencies/drift dives. Feels clunky to use a bolt snap.
Looking for a canister for PLB + car keys.
Price looks similar between them. However Dryfob doesn't include any kind of attachment.
Anyone recommend how to attach it since it doesn't include one like custom divers?
Shearwater is the safer bet of course, and surfGF would be nice. Atmos is something like $150 cheaper though when on sale which is significant.
I personally might try to buy a used Peregrine as a compromise.
Is scubaboard your primary source of income chairman?
If so I understand, but if it's just a hobby I can't imagine hosting costs are very much for this site.
Dan is a non-profit and the insurance is really cheap for a year of diving. I already had one chamber ride and that $120 membership or whatever already saved me $2000+. (My medical insurance kicked in, but I had a $2k deductible).
Even if you never use it for diving, the $10k accident...
What's the cheapest AI integrated computer that you'd consider if you opted for something like that and gave up the nice screen/buhlman/surfGF features of the peregrine?
This is just smart. I'm only a rec diver but plan to run safety stops as long as possible from this point on. Would like to get a Shearwater just to monitor surfGF/the tissue compartment view to have something fun to watch while at a safety stop.
Thanks - looks like I can simply watch CNS % on most dive computers, but should be low risk with the surface intervals & reasonable half-life.
Curious how many DC's give SI credit.
Hi all,
I was recently nitrox certified. I understand the NDL/MOD implications for individual dives, but am a little confused on continued oxygen exposure over multiple dives.
I realize oxygen is not the same as nitrogen accumulation, but I'm trying to debate this guideline:
SDI states that...
Right, keep in mind the Deep6 is just a rebranded Crest CR-4 chinese computer as well. I mean Deep6 claims to have had some help in the development process, but I suspect 95% of it is just rebranding.
He spoke to it in this polish conference just 2 months ago:
He mentioned 50/70 at around the 1:40 mark for more isolated locations. 50/80 in other standard conditions I guess.
I'm just a beginner but find the theory interesting.
