Now it's time to choose a wrist computer.

If you go with the amphos keep in mind that the download cable will cost over $100. I believe the Oceanic uses the same cable. Personally I’m looking at a new computer because I ont want to have to keep replacing a ‘cheap’ $100 download cable.

Question Is the cable for the Oceanic Geo and the Sherwood the same?

Is the cable for the Oceanic Geo and the Sherwood the same? They look the same in pictures. It so, is it used for any other computers? A friend recently lost her cable and doesn't want to spend another $130 for a replacement, especially when there is a good chance she will upgrade computers in...

What are your favorite easy wreck dives?

Head north. Lake Placid is only a half hour south of the St. Lawrence River. There are plenty of wrecks to see, on both sides of the border. There is also flooded locks (Morrisburg, Long Sault). St. Lawrence River - Maps Location - Shipwreck World

    Nissan Rogue commercial with divers

I bought a rogue in May 2019 (because the frame of my Kia rotted) and first thing I told the sales person was I needed room for our scuba gear. Less than a year latter we started seeing these ads with scuba diving. My wife thinks someone passed our question along.

Should a Dive Op charge you for rental gear in the case of your own gear failure?

I'm not really sure what you are getting at. Basically, I would not consider a replacement reg as part of the contract as you stated and expect to pay. If the dive op refused I would still feel a need to pay and therefore add that amount to the tip if there was one or perhaps pay for the first...

Aqua Lung Axiom i3 BCD -- Thoughts on i3 Inflator Mechanism

That appears to be what happened to mine but mine wouldn't open (with the i3, shoulder dump still worked).

Should a Dive Op charge you for rental gear in the case of your own gear failure?

I didn't read the entire thread. Seems to be a consensus that the fee is warranted for at least the afternoon dive. Personally, I would expect to pay a reasonable rental for the morning dive as well and if I wasn't charged one it would become a tip for the staff.

Aqua Lung Axiom i3 BCD -- Thoughts on i3 Inflator Mechanism

It's not easily serviced. I had to send mine out to have it serviced when the i3 dump stopped working. As for during an incident, not a problem if you know your gear. As I said, my i3 dump stopped working so I switched to my right shoulder dump and continued diving. You are right that it...

Aqua Lung Axiom i3 BCD -- Thoughts on i3 Inflator Mechanism

Have you ever used one, or even seen one for that matter? "The dump is inaccessible with the right hand" WRONG! "There’s only one dump, any failure of the complex mechanism means loss of buoyancy control." WRONG! "The oral inflate is hidden under a flap that isn’t visible to the user when...

Aqua Lung Axiom i3 BCD -- Thoughts on i3 Inflator Mechanism

Thanks, I don't think I have ever heard that expression. Make sense now. To stretch the analogy, I guess the i3s have more of an elephant tail. lol Also, I edited my first post. I wasn't clear enough on the failure. It was only on the dump system. I could still inflate with the i3 lever. I...

Aqua Lung Axiom i3 BCD -- Thoughts on i3 Inflator Mechanism

Not sure what you mean by elephant trunk. If it is the hose to fill by mouth, but is just a simple tube with a compression mouth piece. (on left shoulder). There is also a manual dump, right shoulder...

Aqua Lung Axiom i3 BCD -- Thoughts on i3 Inflator Mechanism

I purchase an i3 when I started diving. Initially I loved it, perhaps to much. It was to easy to add and remove air. I also experienced a failure of the system while in Roatan. I simply switched to the shoulder dump for the trip and sent it out for repair when I got home. I honestly don't...

    COVID-19 impact on diving

Although not directly related diving, the following link explains some of the effects seen on the lungs. The emerging long-term complications of Covid-19, explained The report deals mainly with people who have been in hospital as those are the easiest to study. It does however state that "of 58...

    AirBNB paradox

Taken in the context of the sentence the definition would have to be the first one. You would be unable to lock the door. The second definition would not apply because the door is not locked, again from the context of the warning. The message I get from the warning is that the key code is...

    AirBNB paradox

The warning simply states the door will be unlockable after 10:00. It does not say the door will unlock after 10:00. Basically, at 10:00 the key code is set. You therefore cannot lock or unlock the door after 10:00. It if was locked at 9:58 it remains locked. It it was unlocked it remains...
